So far I have picked up Valdis Story, Goodbye Deponia (completing the trilogy for me on GOG), and Cognition. As mentioned earlier, just waiting on Grimm. I used to play it when the episodes were free on Gametap but fell behind and lost my chance to play them free. I would love to play them again.

Neverfree: I shouldn't of had that big bowl of macaroni.... I feel the coma starting to set in :o
A few natural stimulants in order of potency(disclaimer: legality differs from country to country)

Coca leaf
Khat
Ephedra sinica
Caffeine in its various forms(Guarana, coffee, tea - try making a cuppa with coffee leaves or Camilia species ie tea)
Sugar

The easiest way to power through sleep deprivation without the use of external stimulants is to activate the body's natural ones through exercise. Intense burst exercise works the best. Breathing and lymphatic fluid manipulation are also great for a wake up :)

foxworks: Well, some glitch had it way under valued. Instead of the $6+ price tag it was under $1.50....ouch!
avatar
donsanderson: OK, I remember that price thing for the first few sales in round 2.
Randomized the games but not the prices.
Bummer for those wanting it.
Thanks.
It is a shame, considering how great the game is, IMHO. Would have been nice for it to make another appearance, at the correct price-point. Oh well.

Orionos: I find myself so often surprised at a game that used to consume so much of my time with graphics so completely immersive, now look so strange to me. Modern games really spoil a person.

EDIT: Wow, I used up the word 'so' a bit too much there...
avatar
Tarnicus: Yeah I've struggled to o back to some games that I loved dearly in my youth due to how horrid the graphics appear now. My girlfriend is a bit younger than me, and the look on her face when she sees some of the games I play or played is hilarious. She can't comprehend what it is like to enjoy something that doesn't look all shiny and new. Maybe I'll convert her to an old school game some day :)
I feel your pain! My husband saw me playing Ultima 4 on my 17" laptop with it's 2Gb NVidia graphics card and 8Gb RAM and thought I was insane! What people don't realise is that back in the day, without orchestral scores and fancy graphics, games had to have actual CONTENT. The thing is, my other half should get that as we used to play games like the original Bard's Tale on his Amstrad 464!

LynetteC: So what's the chance that they'll double the first round number this time around? All the other games have had increases on the previous rounds. Could be time to sleep after all. :-)
Most games have three times as many copies this last round but not all of them.
In the second round the slowest games were:

* Humans Must Answer - 3h 26 min.
* Alan Wake's American Nightmare - 2h 26 min.
* Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers - 1h 50 min.
* Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness - 1h 3 min.

(Approximate times taken from @Pidgeot list)

Fortunately, my debit card has had a chance to cool off a little since the end of Round 2... Got 6 games from my wish list, plus 8 more that I saw during the sale and went "ooo! want!"

Just two more from my wish list and I can call it good: Shelter (which I missed because I blinked when it came up in Round 2 and it was gone) and Capitalism 2 (couldn't get it in Round 2 because it was pouring down rain so hard I could barely see the road going through Toledo, Ohio, so didn't think monkeying around with my phone was such a smart idea...)

Hopefully they'll come up in the next hour or two, or wait until I wake up in the morning.

Happy shopping all!

I thought I read somewhere when I was researching this sale event that the number of copies in Round 3 would be based on how quickly they sold out in previous rounds... could be I hallucinated that though. :-P

The first episode is free on Steam, but yeah, I grabbed that game yesterday during round 2. Great game

Great ideas! I may just have to start chugging tea and coffee for the time being :)
Got some Licorice tea that I've never tried before...

IAmSinistar: Well, I think I have to yield to the heresy of sleep in a few hours, and have some things to do before then. So I shall be heading off. Another fantastic day with you people, cementing yet again the rightness in pursuing GOG to hold another Insomnia sale.

foxworks: Enjoy dreaming of GOGBears :)
What are GOGBears??
avatar
LynetteC: I actually have a slight Scottish accent, having lived in England since 1979, (moved with family as a little girl) but the compliment is gratefully received - especially at this time in the morning! I have to confess that I'm quite partial to american accents too. :-D
avatar
Tarnicus: So you'd be familiar with the variety there is :) I lived with some Scotts for a few months, and even though I was in my own country, I started taking on their accent subconsciously

SCOTS - no double T!
OK, quick shower and store run.

Ah'll be Bock!

Keep a look out for Riven and Evil Genius, HypersomniacLive needs copies.

For anyone sitting on the fence on LBA the LBAwin mod allows you to run LBA with full controller support. You know you want to buy a copy!!!!

When the service gets too busy or anything bugs out and the website, a Gogbear jumps out of the computer and mauls your face off. By that point you won't need to know.
