I'm so glad to hear you (and others) say that. The first Insomnia sale was great for bringing GOG members, both new ones and ones who had not braved the forums before, out here. It's one of the greatest community-building events I've seen on GOG, and it seems to be working its magic again!

I actually have a slight Scottish accent, having lived in England since 1979, (moved with family as a little girl) but the compliment is gratefully received - especially at this time in the morning! I have to confess that I'm quite partial to american accents too. :-D

I bought an Amiga 500 a number of years ago during my hardware retro nostalgia period (almost grabbed another TI-99/4A too). When it arrived it had the wonky graphics problem a lot of them were known for. I remembered the "knee trick" (where you bring you knee sharply up into the center of an A500 to re-seat the graphics chip's pins), and it worked like a dream. Nothing beats the knowledge of the Old Times. :D

It's a very interesting community here, not at all as I would have expected. Now, I haven't ventured out much further than this thread, but I imagine this has a pretty good cross section.

I find myself so often surprised at a game that used to consume so much of my time with graphics so completely immersive, now look so strange to me. Modern games really spoil a person.

Yeah I was unaware of this until I participated this year. Given somehow over $100 mysteriously vanished from my bank account whilst I was missing sleep, and I had the intention of buying ONE(1) game, I think the sale has worked on me :P
