Frostnatt: Got Shadow Man for free. Never played it before. Is it good?
It's an extremely odd game both in concept and gameplay. I played it on the PS1 way back when it first released. I remember being somewhat disappointed by it but found it hard to stop playing. Never got very far at all as all the areas were like giant mazes from what I remember

IAmSinistar: But some of them, like Zork and S2, are going to go right onto my shelf. :)
Good choice. S2 is pretty good, not sure about Zork.
Still waiting for Battle Worlds Kronos...

Anyone interested to trade it for up to 3 other gift codes (Deus Ex, Dungeon Keeper...)?

CalicoPup: Drat! Checked Twitter and missed Zork!

Oh well... Round three, here I come!

ormaybemidgets: I grabbed Zork in case someone who wanted it missed it. I can send you the code. :]
I do appreciate the offer, but I think I'll try catching it in the wild first. More fun that way!
10 purchases and not one single freebie.

ExiL0n: So you can redeem games you bought as gifts? I got Star Control as a gift code following the same line of thinking, though I don't really know if it can be done.
Yes, just use the code in the Redeem Gift link at the bottom of the page. It works just as if someone had sent you the game. I do this frequently when a game comes on sale that I'm not sure I want, or which I am buying for someone who might not have it and can redeem for myself if it turns out they do.
Hmm those last Shadow Men are taking a while

That's the Insomnia spirit! +1 to you and keep on (safely) truckin'!

HypersomniacLive: WHAT?!
You were collecting gift codes while you don't already own it yourself?! Bad Sinistar!! ;-P

IAmSinistar: Heh, about half my first-round purchases were gift codes for games I don't own. I did that because I knew I would impulse buy, then might decide later I didn't really want it. But some of them, like Zork and S2, are going to go right onto my shelf. :)
That's right, buy now, decide later. No shame in that :D *looking at my list of codes..hmmmm

Huh. That's one I got for free too. Maybe it's the only one out of 25+ purchases and 4 attempts that I got for free because all the other candidates were among the 50% of the GOG catalog that I already owned.

(Seriously. I now own 392 games. If you adjust for the six retired entries I own (Fallout 1/2/Tactics, Space Rangers, Guilty Gear X2, Wallace & Gromit), that's 386 out of 741 entries, which is 52% of the catalog.)
