Not too many people left in this thread. You'd probably have better luck here:

Should be a trade too, cash sales are VERY frowned upon by GOG. ;-)
Hello,

Stilton: I love the German language (and also your country) and have just decided that I'm going to learn it.

I've been to Germany four times but only for quick visits, so there was no real chance to get into the language (what I learned I've forgotten), but now is the right time to get to grips with it properly.

It might be blasphemy to say it here, but there is more to life than computer games!
I have to say that it is nice to read these sentences :)

If you wanna learn our language by textbooks or other education materials and are not sure if they are good, you can send me a link to it and I will take a look. Or if you need help in any other ways where a native speaker is useful to you or someone who can give you tips for a trip to Germany :)

Good luck for everything you wanna do in the future!

Beer and Claudias seems not the baddest pair
Never was in Detmold or Unna just in Münster North of Unna, very nice town even with a small lake with a sailing club in the middle of it. But for learning german this area is the best - no slang just correct plain german.
Here in Bavaria or up in the north in Hamburg you will learn hefty slang but no german ;-)

Me was just once in London and i really enjoyed it, always said must come back but still not yet done.
Were still more on the "checking now the far far away countrys - London Paris and Rome can wait when were older and can also be done on a weekend ;-)
avatar
Stilton: I used to live in London but don't live too far away now - let me know if you are coming (even for a weekend) and I can show you some good sights. There's a lot to be seen and some good food, if you know where to look ;-)
I have been thinking taking a trip To London Myself.
Really cheap planetickets to go there nowadays for a weekend if you order a bit in advance at least from where i live.
Not sure about hotels or places to stay though and i heard that London is a wery expensive city if you dont know where to look or go.
Migth go there after the summer vacation.
I was there a couple of weekends ago, "cheap" hotels can definitely be found. I was staying at a place called Queensway Hotel and recall it was very affordable. Bad breakfast and service but the room was decent enough, kind of cosy even.

It's there I discovered Ben's Cookies. I am now forever lost, as they don't have this godly food where I live.

FudoMyo: OK, this is ridiculous. It's 3am, I'm going to bed. If anyone has it in the kindness of their heart to nab me a copy of Betrayal at Krondor, I have game keys galore from Humble Bundles past, I'm sure I'll have something interesting for you. Or Paypal. Please PM me.

It's been fun, guys. Good night!

xjay73: [...] After that, I will pick up a load of sporting goods to take up to the Pittsburgh area. =)

jackster79: Coming out my way, I see. :-)

xjay73: [...]
As far as my earlier question: I ended up picking Long Live the Queen as the first game to download from the sale. After playing it 3 times, I've decided this is vaguely reminiscent of how I felt playing Oregon Trail way back on the Commodore PET back in the late 70s/early 80s: Play for a while, get killed. Start over, play for a while, get killed. Play again, get killed.

Me likey. lol
avatar
jackster79: That is a good comparison, though I never thought of it due to the stats element in LLTQ. But indeed, that is a nifty game with a good bit of gaming goodness if you want to see everything.
I'm in the Pittsburgh area a good bit actually. There's one customer a little down river from the city where I get some of my best paying loads, so I try to get back there as much as I can. :D

The only thing missing in the comparison is the cassette tape drive. *grin*

xjay73: Yes, I am an owner-operator and the truck is mine and paid for even. I have a 2006 International 9400i currently, though around the beginning of July, I will be picking up my new truck (yay!): a 2014 Kenworth T660. I'm just waiting it to be built. :-)
avatar
Stilton: Those are good looking trucks. Is the Kenworth a sort of made-to-measure build, hence the wait?
Well, pretty much any brand can be custom ordered. The reason mine is taking so long is that I'm getting what's called a glider kit. Basically, it's the shell of the truck (frame, chassis, axles) without the engine and transmission. These last two elements are what I'm having custom built. The place that's doing it for me has to wait for the glider to come in first (a couple more weeks at the most), then it takes about 4 weeks for the rest to be built and installed.

I'll put a pic of it up once I get it... quite excited about it, even though it will put me up to my eyeballs in debt. lol

Hm, 2000 more posts then? Doable, certainly doable. Considering the fall insomnia promo thread is still alive and kicking. :o
