Hi folks. Great sale, just like last time, and I love the community here. I was much more restrained this sale, just picked up:
Deadly Premonition
Raiden
Heretic Kingdoms

I'm still after Betrayal at Krondor, if anyone picked up an extra. I have doubled up Humble Bundle keys galore, or PayPal. Just PM me.

Get some sleep, ya'll!

Tarnicus: Thank you flickas for providing the image of all but the last comment on this thread that got taken down on Steam. The last comment is actually buried in these forums somewhere :)

Edit: I tracked down the final comment that wasn't in the screenshot *grins*

"Yeah as shiny as this new Theme Park "Studio" is, it's got nothing on the classic. The shiny new graphics actually DETRACT from the perfection that is the original Theme Park. In fact, if it had NO graphics it would be even BETTER!"

Haha, thanks for posting that shot, I missed actually seeing how that thread unfolded, and that last quote is pure genius!

Does it feel strange to anyone else when they look back at this thread and see only a handful of new posts after say 30 minutes?!

Yes I'm finding it quite disorienting! And before momentum is lost, I'm going to dive into the temporarily named GOG Community Gaming Project (temporarily named as how can I make up a cool acronym with no vowels?? lol)

Tekkaman-James: Well, before I step away from this thread for the first time that isn't sleep-related, I thought I would share a little something I made. It took minimal effort, to be sure, but I still thought you guys might like it.
Very nice!

See you guys next wacky sale!
high rated
As a veteran (survivor) of the previous Insomnia sale I felt at the time it ended that the event would never be bettered, that the forum was the best I had ever encountered and that if it ever happened again the experience could never be matched.

And I was right, you people were lousy.

No no no no no no no, let me start again...

A day or two before this year's event closed I was thinking to myself, as wonderful as the Fall event was, this is even better. More enthusiasm, more sharing, more energy, more delight in winning a freebie, more humour and more excitement watching and waiting for that often painfully slow moving orange worm to disappear into its hole and reveal the next game to us. Rounds one, two and three had such a different feel, from frenzy to stock taking and finally to the relaxed and good-natured comfort of shooting the breeze and sharing thoughts with people who had become considerably more than acquaintances. It was like a party where only our minds and personalities were present, where I could almost feel the music and hear the laughter. From initial awkwardness upon arrival to feeling sad that it couldn't continue as the inevitable end came, it was an experience where the games, the catalyst which brought us together, became, at the close, secondary to simply sharing the pleasure of the occasion and to making the most of it for as long as it lasted.

The Fall Insomnia even was great, no doubt about it. But the one we have just lived through was mighty.

Thank you all, and may your games be a fond and long lasting reminder of just how special these few days were.

Edit: And it is now my desktop background for now, thank you :)

Wonderful post indeed :)

This promo reminded me of so many hippy festivals Ive been to lol
I was so disappointed when I saw the list after round one, except maybe one game I wasn't interested in anything at all. And that was to be the great community event? Lots of games I don't care about? Meh. And now a week later, I find myself tempted to refresh the thread even during the cup final, despite the event long over.

Thanks everyone, I was rarely current enough in the thread to participate, but it was great fun indeed, such an open and friendly bunch of nutters.

Ah good, an excuse to kill you at last... LIGUUURG!! - HIPPY ALERT!
Thanks to the necessity of having to wake up early for work, I saved money this time around by completely missing the sale. :-D

Yeah from my balcony. I've somehow accidentally turned the flash off so it doesnt take very good pictures with low light levels.

Red sky this morning and big glow around the moon the past 2 nights so we have heavy rain, possibly snow coming if it gets cold enough.

That doesn't sound like very enjoyable weather... Good thing then we just had the promo, so you have enough games to keep you busy indoors :)
