If the combined sensation of anticipating goodies while wanting to somehow reach through the ether and choke a video game until its very conceptual essence dies appeals to you? Click this! And if what I just said sounds kinda sorta unhinged, click it anyway! Click one, click both, just click the damn things so we can continue having occasions that are more fun than being lovingly attended to by a dominatrix with large hands and cold eyes while playing really sweet video games!

ChozoTull: Most people have described it as really addictive and well-designed. I'm not one for punishing games so I'll pass. If you're into actual rogue-likes (not rogue-lites), you'll probably enjoy it.
avatar
jalister: Thanks. I don't mind hard games, but not punishing. Though I intend to give Demons Souls and Dark Souls a try.
The souls games are the only console games I would recommend from the entire last generation :) Good lord it was a thin crop.

trentonlf: I'm still wondering what is up with the freebie bias, bought 29 games and no freebies. Even been clicking on games I have no desire for LOL
avatar
xjay73: It really does seem to be lopsided -- we're about the same: I'm at 30 games bought during the sale and no freebies either. Though part of it is that I don't click on every game just to try to get a freebie; if I'm not willing to pay for the game, I'll save the opportunity for the freebie to someone who actually wants the game. :-)
I picked up about 30 games and I got one freebie (Shadowrun!)

jalister: Is FTL really good? It's hard to tell from the screen shots and videos.

foxworks: I really, really enjoy it. Upgrade your ship, management its people, destroy other ships, distribute your resources carefully. It's a blast ;-)
FTL is fantastic. Just remember, it's not so much about "winning" as it is about playing... and playing... and playing... every time I start up a new ship and crew I'm always amazed I love it as much as the last time!
high rated

deleuz: So much replay value, so much magic, really wonderful game with an amazing (more please!!!) soundtrack. I just love it.
Definitely what deleuz said re: the soundtrack. It is awesome. (Though I'm not nearly as wild about the new songs added with Advanced Edition.)

Pidgeot: I didn't expect that to take quite as long as it is. This makes me quite nervous about how long Pid and Edna & Harvey will take; they were quite fast in round 2, so they probably haven't had their number of copies scaled down like Alan Wake will likely have, and I don't see them selling all that quickly...

I'm getting way too tired, so I'm going to go to bed now, and I'll post a summary when I wake up again. We'll see if the sale is still running by then.

I'm not 100% sure if my script will catch the end of the sale properly - it should, but I can't be sure until it happens. If the sale ends before I get back, could someone try to note the time when it ends? Thanks.
Rest well, noble bird...
Thanks for everything, your updates have been one of my favorite parts of this thread (as supposed to that *other* Spring Insomnia thread, lol!) It has made analysis/speculation much easier and much more fun! :D

Can't even blame coffee for that. Started channeling my inner marketer a while ago. Not sure if I'd be better off blaming it on the caffeine.

Unlock everything and only play on Normal! ;D

stg83: It seems that unfortunately word has gotten out about the other sale on Tiny and Big: Keanepa's Leftovers unfortunately, hence the excruciating Late night/crack of dawn keaning we are suffering.
My only comment is - it helps if people didnt come in and say "Hey by the way <insert game name> is on sale at <insert whatever> store". Might be doing people a service... but definitely doesnt help a game here being sold

justanoldgamer: It looks like you have a thing for swords and very unbalanced characters.
LOL Speaking of *ripostes*!!!!
Brilliant! Good form.

It had nothing to do with how many game you purchased, except that you can't win a game if you do not press the buy button.
It's random and just like lottery, most people don't win anything and you mostly hear about the winner.

Disclaimer: Bought 11 games, got 2 freebies, both on games I had no intention of buying.

I'm one of the sick ones and voted to have at least 2 a year ;-)
Back and I see not much has changed. Too bad. I was hoping that there would be a run on Tiny and Grandpa. Too much to hope for I see.
Ah, that's better. When nature calls you've got to answer.
