xjay73: Perhaps someone will make a digest version of this thread when all is said and done...
btw 700 pages, yay!

Stilton: Ah, but you didn't experience the Keaning, my friend. That was truly hellish 100 copies in what felt like three days - it hit the UK late as I recall, that period of night when time somehow elongates..... Brrrr, I shudder to think about it.

omegaunit: Nope, no I didn't, I imagine I'll never know the true horror.
The horror was hideous, equally bad in both colour AND black and white.

For some reason I've started reading your name as Pomegranate.

I suspect its the Keaning....haunting me still.... I'm doooomed... DOOOMED!!

txnca: Horror movies...color or black and white?
Black and red. ;)

Oh no! I've inadvertently caused a flashback. NURSE! NURSE!

omegaunit: I'm not familiar with the concept, what are they hinting at?
Sorry, didn't think that I may have to explain it.

OK, every Friday GOG throws a hint at us about one of next week's releases (there's a dedicated thread here). We then try to guess what game fits the hint best and wait to see if anyone guessed right.

Hope it's clearer now ;-)

That sounds like a Kubrick movie starring Jack Nicholson!

Roger that. Well enigmatic is the word then, I have literally no idea :)

rft183: I finally got my first freebie right before I left work. Unfortunately (for me), I already had the game. So if anyone missed Gobliiins and would like it, let me know, and it's yours.

ggf162: May I?
It's already gone. Sorry!
Hello out there.

As live in Europe where it is 2:00 AM and as I can't stand this Grandpa torture anymore, I wanted to ask if someone could gift me a copy of FTL when it comes up (if it is possible to do such a thing) and I'll gift him another game which costs below 4 or 5$ tomorrow or later.

I know this is not an ethically good thing to ask, but if someone's interested, try to send me a PM with your e-mail within the next 10 minutes or so. And I'll send an e-mail back with mine. And this is only for FTL...

Thanks a lot...

Depends on the movie. The Innocents for example is perfect in b/w, can't imagine it any other way.
Alien for example, especially the chest burster scene, needs to play in colour.

An interesting comparison is The Mist.Has "official" versions in both b/w and colour. In that case i prefer the b/w version.

I was actually thinking about Dad's Army, an old British TV sitcom about some ageing home guard volunteers from WW2. There's a crazy old Scotsman called Fraser who would always come out with a spooky story when the situation got dark and lonely and nine times out of ten he'd end it with the same word repeated in a ghostly voice.

Senteria: Also heading to bed now and I wonder if there's anything special or secret at the end of the last game that will sell.
At the end of Round 1, GOG did have a surprise.

18000 copies of Keane

But they quickly put it down after about 2 minutes. The volcanic eruption of Krakatoa was the community collective gasp that traveled backwards in time . . .

ALH: There sadly wasn't during the first Insomnia sale.
Though that may be so, gog did not realize how dramatic and widespread a community activity the sale would become the first time...(how could they?) They even said right at the top of their news bulletin for this Spring sale that for the first insomnia, they were expecting it to just be like any other sale. Then the Keaning transpired and took over not only the forums but even interfered with non-forum aspects of the site (like the reviews)...and even influenced activities on other websites that had no official connection to gog.com at all!

This time they knew that doing another Insomnia sale would be like a, uh, <ahem> "second coming" of Keane, (sorry, couldn't resist the metaphor) and even seemed to be encouraging everyone to get wrapped up in the silliness.
They may not do anything special at the end of this one, but *I* would certainly *not* be surprised if they had something else up their sleeves...
After all, did you see the little joke they did at the end of round 1!?

EDIT: speaking of ninjas, very well done Dajjer.
Did you see that screenshot? I think it was Sinistar or someone who posted it once or twice...

Starting to sleep at the wheel here. My alarms are set for five and a quarter hours from now, so i really need to tuck in.
If anybody would be so nice as to help me out with both Sam & Max titles that are to come? Thank you!

Good night and good luck!
This way of keeping us from other games is not very gentlemanly :c
