krisbeattie: Ahhhh Deponia 3. Yet another game I purchased full price for my girlfriend

dr.gun: Thinking about the same... Can you play it without having played the previous ones?

joppo: I'm pretty sure I'll be ninja'd on this but here it goes: First they separated Edna and Harvey's games, ant the price for both together used to be $20. Now they cost $20 for one and $15 the other. They also raised prices on some of their other games, I can't remember which ones.

Essentially they treat us like cash cows and not customers. So I wanna get my money and support other companies in their place.

Edit: typo. And I surprisingly haven't been ninja'd
They doubled the price on The Whispered World by making it a Special Edition.
Melhelix, check your pm.

enjoy the Shelter game. :)

craig_ethan_123: What site rewrite?
I can't find any specific posts right now, but it's been brought up occasionally by various GOG people, and there's no ETA on it, but one of the things it's supposed to bring is the ability for GOG to charge in currencies other than USD (which allows you to potentially save some currency conversion fees imposed by your bank, and will also make it possible for GOG to accept more payment methods in the long run).

They've also mentioned a rework of the forums, so that's probably part of it too.

has theme park passed?

Verdeloth: And I also don`t understand, why GOG didn`t have a possibility to save credit card details to the profile like it is on all other sites, so they don`t have to be typed every time.
Actually I like that. The only data which are safe on the internet are the data which are NOT saved. ;)
It's the usual trade between security and comfort. Unfortunately most sides decide in favor of comfort and against security, GOG does not.

Phobos: I haven't seen it yet, so maybe somebody can explain to me how it is possible to get a free game during this sale?
Keep clicking on the Buy Now button for a chance to get a freebie then cry a little inside if you don't get it, rinse and repeat. That is my routine for free games so far. :P

I didn't know that.
Their games are not under my radar. Anyway this move only make it less likely for me to buy them.

Tarnicus: OUt of curiosity, are you a bargain game hunter for yourself but will get her games at full price if you know she will really like them? That sounds like me :)
That's nice of you.

Tarnicus: Had an er incident with Thea's dog today. I won't go into detail but I needed to be at this house and not the other. Even though I got a great sleep of 10 hours last night, I'm pretty exhausted still from missing 2 out of 4 nights sleep.

I just showed her this footage of Ishar 3 and had a great laugh when I told her that this was the best graphics of the series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY9edOpuZdA

She can't understand how I can enjoy games with graphics like that lol

Red_Frog: That is quite easily riposted with, "I can't believe you like b-movies with controls like that."
Haha! She does have fairly decent tastes in gaming(and has helped expand the diversity of games I play) but is from a different era than I am :D

I had a realisation of why the other day. I was raised on books and boardgames and social interaction. My games and gaming tastes are generally either a/ strategy, the more complex the better(ie chess on steroids) or b/ roleplaying (interactive stories with strategy). She was raised with televisions, computers(I was the first person in my school to have one back in 1985/6 :P), consoles and mobile phones(my father's car phone in the 80s was the only one I ever saw!). It seems that the differences in upbringing make quite a difference with gaming preferences for us.

Yes that's right, thanks for reminding me.
Anyway, I believe it won't be long til they pull the same stunt on A New Beginning. I haven't played it yet but I can't see it going by $10 while other comparable games from them are $15 or $20.
