Pidgeot: It only took just over 1 hour for 350 copies last round. This round it has only 200 copies; even with the general reduction in sell rate for this round, I estimate it won't be more than about 2 hours.

Jsmnox: Silly question that maybe don't have a clear answer. Why does it take so long? I mean, has it been free before? Or has it been in a lot of sales? It's Tomb Raider. I thought it should be sold-out fast.
It's a terrible game. Back when it was released people went mad over how bad this one is. I think Core had to shut down after this one, but I'm not sure anymore.

cemtufekci: Maybe its rating here is the reason. 2,5 is too low for gog standards.
Well, that was it for me.. was kind of interested, but the rating/reviews really turned me off.
With games like this, that don't seem to be all that great, I really wonder if people are just mercy-buying them or if they are really interested?

It has 2.5 stars, which puts most people off. And the most helpful reviews only give it 2. It basically is the black sheep of the Tomb Raider family. It was rushed on release and it shows. What little content it had was pretty much cut in half, it released a buggy mess, and just overall had no redeeming points. For 2 dollars it's barely worth it for the die-hard collector.
Read the top reviews and you know why

It's one of the less liked titles in the series (49 on Metacritic), and Tomb Raider is a popular series - so most people who want this game are likely to already have it.

Kamamura: The script seems to be syntactically correct, it's vary crude and basic, just pulls a page via http from a given URL and then matches a regexp.
How can I tell if it's working? I get this:

&& echo Exit status: $? && exit 1

Edit: If someone can help I'll buy a copy of TR!

budejovice: You're right, they have changed the freebies during the sale.

They let me gift Tomb Raider (and mentioned the whole Mac thing), but my Round 2 freebie Children of the Nile, also Win only, went straight to my shelf.

Tarnicus: Message support and get CotN converted to a gift code. Theyll do it if you havent downloaded anything from the game :)
It's a thought. But the real thought is that I get my bonus at work today and I'll likely be a PC owner for the first time in 5 years very soon. :)

My MBP isn't going to run Cyberpunk 2077 very well, so a new computer is going to be needed soon anyway.

*cough* I mean, it's the best game ever and everyone should buy it for themselves, their family, their friends, and all their pets! Wooo! *cough*

Verdeloth: I really hope then, that they will put Time Commando to the weekend promo, as I missed it in all three rounds - it zorked by in a blink of an eye, there was no chance to react :)
Duh, I guess work got in the way yesterday morning - it was up in round #3 for over 4.5hrs. :(

Or you just like bad games and pick it up. I mean: there is nothing in this game that isn't fubar.

Been busy playing Interstate 76 which I got in the 3rd round of this promo so I haven't been here a while and I come back to see shizzy ol' Tomb Waiter: Angel of Keaneness, I was wondering when this was going to show up again. How long has it been so far?

I'm not clicking on "buy now" in case I do get it for free. ;)
I decided to test if my dataset could predict the time sell Tomb Raider. As I don't know anything about statistics I just tried an exponential decay for a model. It seems to be reasonably good. That is, good until the number of available copies drops below 30 or so.

Currently the fit is predicting a half-life of 32 minutes for round 3. See Figure 1. I guestimate that the game will take around 120 minutes to sell.

They seem to have fixed the freebies page, so you can now gift even those games you do not have. Try it, give it to a ... "loved one." Muahahah *hack* haaa....

Conrad57: Are you really good with spreadsheets? :)
avatar
Pidgeot: I'd say so, but I didn't need a spreadsheet for that :)
I was wondering if you tracked a real statistic for the "reduction in sell rate" instead of just general. :p

This slow-down is almost frustrating.

I guess it's time to remember that I have a bunch of new games anyway and just hit the sack. Getting two more out of mere curiosity isn't going to change one's life that much. G'night.
