HypersomniacLive: Sorry to butt in, but you I think that you've misunderstood how the freebies work this time.
They have not decided that X and Y users will get a predefined number of freebies. It's totally random. I think each freebie per game is assigned a unique checkout url and if you happen to get it when you click on the "buy now" button then you get the game for free, if not then you you're asked to pay.
The measure they've taken this time though is that you can't get a different checkout url after you first click on the "buy now" button of a specific game, so there's no point to try and retry for the same game.
For me GOG has planned a limited number of free titles and then let the random chance decide who will get it.
It would be crazy otherwise.. or not?
In the algorithm they should have included a personal freebie limit, though.
