Tarnicus: Just did a search to see if there is a DRM free version out there and read this in the Steam forums:

"Just because a game is available on Steam DOES NOT MEAN it uses Steam's DRM. Steam's CEG component -- the component that locks games to the client, forces you to verify your files online after every install, locks a game to a single account forever, etc. -- is 100% optional, and Goat Simulator happens to not use it. If you want to, you can download Goat Simulator, uninstall Steam completely, go to the Goat Simulator folder, and run the game without Steam even being on your machine.

The problem with Goat Simulator -- and other games, like Strike Suit Zero -- is that even though it's DRM-free, the game was programmed to save data only in Steam's cloud saves folder, which means that while you'll be able to play the game without Steam, you won't be able to save or load your progress unless you have the client running while you play. "

Sooo close to actually being DRM free with the current release lol
Yeah, I have some DRM-free games on Steam and I'm not opposed to buying some games on Steam or its various resellers, but I'd much much prefer to buy DRM-free games directly from GOG than from somewhere else personally. Any game that requires Steam to save games in the cloud and has no other option is not DRM-free so no go for me. :)

SpellSword: I keep hearing the term paired list and game X is pair with game Y.
Could someone please explain or link me the info for this?
avatar
donsanderson: The games are coming in the same pairs as round 2.
But the pairs are randomized.
So, we get a random game, then we can look at the list and figure out what's next.
Then another random, and so on.
Ok, I just compared the lists and only a few games have shown up in the same pairs as the second round. I think we are being punked.

akkar: I went to sleep and missed Democracy 3. Is someone willing to trade his spare copy? (Worst part, last game before sleep was Hitman 2)
I am offering to trade a copy http://www.gog.com/forum/general/classifieds/post11089

As expensive as it was I'm not sure anyone bought a spare, I didn't.
A question though, how on earth did you get a 2008 registration date? :-)

That reminds me a lot like the requirement to login to save that many games that used GFWL had. >_<
And AWAKE! 28 pages to catch up on, let's see what i missed since #10146
Take the last train to Keanesville
And I'll meet you at the station
The copies number three hundred thirty
'Cause people spend with reservation
This sale is slow, so slo-slo-slow!
So slo-slo-slooooow!

'Cause it's four thirty in the morning
And the buyers are sleeping in
We'll have one last chance to buy it
Then another chance again
They go so slow, so slo-slo-slo!
So slo-slo-slooooow!
And I don't know when the game I want will come

Take the last train to Keanesville
I'll be waiting on the forum
We'll have time for random chitchat
With some internet decorum
Slow . . . so slo-slo-slow!
So slo-slo-slooooow!

Take the last train to Keanesville
Now I must go take a nap
I can't bear to miss my game
But my energy is sapped
I'm feeling low, so lo-lo-low!
And I don't know when the game I want will come

Take the last train to Keanesville!
Take the last train to Keanesville!
Take the last train to Keanesville!
Take the last train to Keanesville . . .

Did anybody complete The Last Express? How good is it compared to other point and click games?

Niggles: Wow they explained quite a bit there. Since they are programmers it cant be that hard to make the game be able to save locally?
Imho if it can only save into Steams cloud that's effectively locking a basic game function to that service... DRM anyone?
I don't buy that. If you know how to program a video game, then you know how to call stdio functions to open, write to, and close files on the local hard disk. Only a fool would believe that cloud based save games is less programming than saving to a local file. Definitely no software developer (whether or not they're a game developer). It's something you learn how to do within the first few days of learning how to write computer programs. Seriously. :)

I dunno, but if someone buys it right now, they can complete the entire game and let the rest of us know before the game sells out. ;oP
