Tarnicus: I believe it is any game. The two I've won are 2 of the most expensive - Sam & Max Beyond Space and Time and Divinity: Dragon Commander

babark: Thanks for the info as well.
Final question, I swear, but is there any way to set the freebie you got as a gift, even if you don't have it? I got Aarkash: Legacy, but it only had a message that it had been added to my account, nothing about redeeming it as a gift. That's kinda sad, since it also seems to be on the expensive side, but not the sort of thing I'd be interested in (MOBAish ARPG that's high on the tactics but low on the story).
This has probably been answered, but write to support. See my post 20 or so minutes in the future from this one where I must have known you'd ask it, so I could post my support ticket and then refer to it re your post...

Tarnicus: That's the rumour going round...I dunno, I've got 207 on my shelf and the last time I finished one of them was back in the 90s, before GOG existed. I thought this was a back-up service for all the boxed copies of games my mother threw out when I was younger? I didn't realise we were meant to actually play them. I think I prefer the chattiness of the forum/gifting game but I'm still not sure how I can "win" it?

donsanderson: I beg your pardon, I'm not a gamer, I'm a connoisseur and collector thank you!

Gets 'em every time. ;)
I am a collector too, except I don't collect origin, U-play, Xbox and the like

Tarnicus: Yes you have to be in your 30s at least to win free games!
avatar
zillatain: It's true!
hey those kittens in the youtube video...I'm assuming since your name was attached the clip, they are yours? I know I'm kittened out but I couldn't help but watch it - very cute! :)

phaolo: Do only the old users get the freebies?

Well, I am in my 30s and I got no freebies :O

bluey83: You mean we are supposed to play these games we are buying?!

I daren't think about the number of games I have on virtual shelves around the various portals, I do know I have nowhere near enough years left to play them all. Still we continue to collect them though *sigh* lol
Symphony is about to go bye bye

Tarnicus: Fair to whom? It wasn't fair to ME *sulks* :P

I didn't want to be fair, I wanted a reminder and laugh to screenshot it as I was so tired yesterday I forgot to :D
I found it in my cache, lets see if the image attachement can be fooled, its a zip.

Edit: nope, wait

Tarnicus: And re that game, I just wrote to GOG support about it:

"During this awesome sale, I wanted to purchase a gift copy of Sam & Max Beyond Space and Time for a friend. The "problem" is that as I didn't own the game, your generous freebie system during the sale decided I should have the game even though I didn't want it for me. If you could please change that to a gift, I promise to keep spending far more than I can on your awesome sales to gift copies to strangers to make the world a brighter place. Thanks for your support in changing the world, one game at a time <3"
How can they possibly resist? :-)

trentonlf: 30's in rep or 30's in age. I'm 42 and still no freebies lol
Hmm maybe they capped it this sale so over 40s can't win this sale? :D

Walk on Hitman 2... might go for breakfast and shower then...
avatar
cannard: I know this has been asked a million times but how exactly do freebies work again? Is it that you just click "Buy Now" and you may randomly get the option on the screen to get it free? I want to make sure so as that I'm not doing it wrong.
Yep, just click "buy now" and you can randomly get the game for free.
