SpecShadow: Still waiting for OpenXCom for Apocalypse.
Yep. I'm waiting for http://openapoc.org/ as well.
Someday I will beat TFTD, someday, somehow... :P
Apocalypse is the best x-com game out there.

Come at me bro, i will politly disagree with you.
I bought them as a pack on Steam many years ago. Would rather own them on GOG but having to re-purchase would be silly.

Would love to see this as a GOG Connect item.

That very last mission is one hell of a slog. I hated it - beat it once and never intend to do it again. When I replay TFTD I get up to that point and quit. I do play UFO and Apocalypse all the way through though.

Would any of the games be worth getting for the GOG bonus soundtracks? (Even being so cheap, I have to watch my pennies and I'd never play them, but if the soundtrack files are decent and complete, I'd give one or two them a go.)

I only got Ufo Defense and Terror from the Deep, so I can't tell about the other games in the series, but these two are ok-ish.

If you've played the games and liked the music, then it's a very nice price for the soundtracks. If you've never played the games, not sure if this is something you would enjoy.

Both soundtracks are atmospheric and contributed greatly to the suspense in the games. First game I like better, some nice electronic music tracks. Instruments sound dated in both soundtracks, not very realistic, nothing special. There are way better soundtracks from this era.

The first soundtrack has 12 tracks and totals about 50 minutes of music, the other one is 13 tracks and about 32 minutes long.

Hope this was of any help, you can probably find some of this music on Youtube to try it before you make up your mind.

Probably not. I love the TFTD soundtrack, but I don't think that it works very well if you haven't played the game and gog's version is a very simple rendering of midi files. IMO it should be played with a different synthesizer.

The UFO soundtrack is the PSX version. That's better, although I prefer the midi version or the "Cydonia's Fall" re-interpretation that you can find on the openxcom mod page.

I can't help you with gog's version of the Apocalypse soundtrack – I think it has the worst soundtrack compared to the other games.
Nice....great sale too
I've spent so many hours in the first UFO when I was a kid... now whenever I try it I get slaughtered so bad I really don't think I'm ever playing them again :D but it sure is a necessity to be able to whenever I want, so thanks GOG!

igrok: It is still somewhat buggy. GOG's version is 1.2. The latest official patch was 1.4, but I think it mostly addressed some issues with sound card support. The game was never completely fixed (well, long time ago I also played the version for Sony PlayStation and didn't have any visible problems with it). It's not as bad as the 1.0 version of the game (which had many problems), but it is still possible to encounter certain bugs (like the same battle reloading all the time - I had to consult the bug list to fix that). But game breaking bugs are very rare.
I did a bit research to confirm. The GOG release is 1.4 - the telltale deep death groan used for the Sectoids, Floaters and Snakemen is one of the trademarks of the 1.4 patch. Universally hated by most players who recall the original sound samples. The executable file sizes also match 1.4.

A quick dive with a hex editor later and I see GOG has also fixed the one byte that caused the infamous difficulty reset bug. This bug wasn't officially fixed until the PSX and Windows (aka Gold or CE) releases and had to be patched manually. Either way, bravo.
So, maybe new X-COM release today?

GR00T: If you go to any one of the game pages, you can choose to grab them all as a bundle (it's under the individual game 'Add to Cart' button). Then you can grab all at once, or remove any you may not want.
I'm aware of that of course, but to clarify - I am not personally trying to find a solution to a problem that I'm personally having and unable to find all of the games to put them into my cart. :) I own all of these games on Steam already.

Rather, I was pointing out a problem that GOG.com's marketing department has and recommending a solution to GOG.com for better marketing their games to increase sales potential. I can find them well enough if I want them, but a successful business doesn't leave people up to their own devices but rather makes the purchasing experience as easy as possible, and since they already have the technology to group a collection of games together into a sales promo and show them all on a single page in a group for ease of putting them into one's cart, it seems odd that they forget to do this for some sales randomly.

For example, the current Elder Scrolls series promo page: https://www.gog.com/promo/201600601_launch_promo_bethesda_rpgs

It just seems odd to me that they have the ability to create such promo pages for game collections, and they do it for most promos, but not for all of them, when it can't take more than a minute or so worth of clicking the mouse in some marketing UI internally, and it can't hurt sales of the games but might well help sales. But then I'm not a marketing expert either so what do I know. :)

Yeah, I didn't figure you were personally having issues with finding them. I was posting more for posterity, but quoted you since that's what prompted my reply.

Heh, yeah, well... GOG, y'know?

Funny you should point this one out, as it has its own issues, albeit nothing really egregious. But just as a point of note: if you own Redguard and Battlespire from the promo where you got them free when buying Morrowind - and if you own the 'classic' Fallout games... they don't show as owned on the promo page.

So, as of now, I actually own every game in that promo; but Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Redguard, and Battlespire all show as games I don't own.

Ah, GOG, so much fun.
