Real-time strategy games – what makes them so fun? Well, there are plenty of reasons for that. They make you feel in absolute control. It is You, the player, who is the grand strategist constructing your base, developing your economy and producing your army. When you defeat your enemies it’s because you’ve outwit them through a counter strategy, gained a superior economy or by crushing their army through tactical excellence and more efficient control and synergy of your units and abilities. You are forced to think critically and react under pressure, responding with difficult decisions and unit management of varying opportunity cost. RTS games make you feel brilliant and cunning because of the way you outsmart and outplay your opponents. And it is that feeling that truly makes the genre stand out.

This week we’ve prepared a special RTS Sale with discounts as high as 90% to let you experience all of the things mentioned above in excellent and engaging titles. Check out games like:

Steel Division 2 (-80%)
It pushes the limits of the WW2 RTS experience. Set on the Eastern Front in 1944, it puts you in charge of your entire army during Operation Bagration, the Soviet offensive against Nazi armies in Bielorussia. Play as a General in the 1:1-scale turn-based Dynamic Strategic Campaigns, as a Colonel in the epic Real-Time Tactical Battles, as an Weapon Expert in the brand-new Deck Building System.

Dungeons 2 (-70%)
This title offers unique RTS fantasy gameplay: In the underworld – dungeon manager simulation, and in the overworld – tactical real-time strategy. Take control of the mighty Dungeon Lord and craft a network of unique and terrifying dungeons, recruit an army of fearsome creatures and command two new factions. Prepare to defend your Kingdom against those pesky heroes, go above ground to wage war on their human cities and use the "Hand of Terror" to take direct control over your minions, issue commands, and even dish out a swift slap to keep them in line.

Europa Universalis titles (-75%)
A cult series that needs absolutely no introduction. It simulates all aspects of world history, allowing the player to take on the role of one of the major nations of the era, controlling diplomacy, economy, warfare, exploration, and colonization. A grand strategy experience.

Infested Planet (-75%)
Action sci-fi 2D RTS game where you command a team of 5 elite soldiers against an alien horde of 100,000. Surrounded on all sides, you must outmanoeuvre and outsmart the enemy. The aliens are constantly mutating. One moment your shotguns are ripping through the horde, the next the aliens grow hard, bullet-proof armour. You must adapt as well. Equip your team with stealth suits, miniguns, grenade launchers – your commands will decide the battle's outcome.

Against the Storm (-15%)
This early access roguelite city builder is set in a fantasy world where it never stops raining. You are the Queen’s viceroy — a pioneer sent into the wilds to establish and manage new settlements inhabited by beavers, lizards, and humans. Your goal is to survive long enough and gather the valuable resources necessary to rebuild and upgrade the Smouldering City. It’s the only safe haven against the Blightstorm — a vile cycle of destruction ravaging everything in its path.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun (-90%)
Hardcore RTS stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period. Take control of a team of deadly specialists and sneak in the shadows between dozens of enemies. This title received overwhelming praise and for a good reason. Choose your approach when infiltrating mighty castles, snowy mountain monasteries or hidden forest camps. Set traps, poison your opponents or completely avoid enemy contact.

and many more!

Take the leadership and show that you are the ultimate strategist. Sale lasts until November 8th, 11 PM UTC.

Sale link is 404, could you please take a look at it?
Has anyone ever seen working links in GOG news?
Click here for the correct link.
Blades of the Shogun is awesome. A great sucessor of Commandos.

Steel Division 2... Is it hard to pick up? Anyone knows whether it requires a dedicated grognard with tons of free time to just get started?
This would be a good time to for DOW or COH1

Didn't you hear? November is going to be really really long this year.
I noticed the DLC for Infested Planet never seem to go on sale. Intentional or oversight?
Based on the selection of games, I have to say, that is a VERY wide & inclusive definition of RTS you are using.

IMHO RTSes are not RTTs or tactical action-adventure games...
Blackguards in an RTS!!!! themed sale?

Now I've seen everything.

Exactly my thoughts.

I now understand what they have done with this iteration of the sale page change. You have the option to put it into "list" mode or leave it in grid mode by default.

Now that I have used list mode I am more or less fine with the change EXCEPT it does still need revision. Namely with as massive each listed entry is there SHOULD be extensive info in the list box given that its as big as a box art thumbnail. At the VERY least it should include what OS, Year and 3 genre description which there is AMPLE dead space for currently. Maybe a controller Icon for titles that have controller support. Other useful "at a glance" info would be helpful.

Add this and the list mode will be an actual improvement. Without it, its still too much wasted space.
How is the singleplayer mode for Steel Division 2?

Does it have a skirmish or custom mode?
There seems to be difficulty with Steel Division 2 explaining or even just a screenshot of what the extras are in the more expensive versions and whether co-op needs Eugen Systems and GOG GALAXY accounts.

Also the screenshots on the game store page are yet another example of being misleading. They look like it's for a game similar to ARMA and I don't think you can control the units directly like an action shooter.
