Real-time strategy games – what makes them so fun? Well, there are plenty of reasons for that. They make you feel in absolute control. It is You, the player, who is the grand strategist constructing your base, developing your economy and producing your army. When you defeat your enemies it’s because you’ve outwit them through a counter strategy, gained a superior economy or by crushing their army through tactical excellence and more efficient control and synergy of your units and abilities. You are forced to think critically and react under pressure, responding with difficult decisions and unit management of varying opportunity cost. RTS games make you feel brilliant and cunning because of the way you outsmart and outplay your opponents. And it is that feeling that truly makes the genre stand out.

This week we’ve prepared a special RTS Sale with discounts as high as 90% to let you experience all of the things mentioned above in excellent and engaging titles. Check out games like:

Steel Division 2 (-80%)
It pushes the limits of the WW2 RTS experience. Set on the Eastern Front in 1944, it puts you in charge of your entire army during Operation Bagration, the Soviet offensive against Nazi armies in Bielorussia. Play as a General in the 1:1-scale turn-based Dynamic Strategic Campaigns, as a Colonel in the epic Real-Time Tactical Battles, as an Weapon Expert in the brand-new Deck Building System.

Dungeons 2 (-70%)
This title offers unique RTS fantasy gameplay: In the underworld – dungeon manager simulation, and in the overworld – tactical real-time strategy. Take control of the mighty Dungeon Lord and craft a network of unique and terrifying dungeons, recruit an army of fearsome creatures and command two new factions. Prepare to defend your Kingdom against those pesky heroes, go above ground to wage war on their human cities and use the "Hand of Terror" to take direct control over your minions, issue commands, and even dish out a swift slap to keep them in line.

Europa Universalis titles (-75%)
A cult series that needs absolutely no introduction. It simulates all aspects of world history, allowing the player to take on the role of one of the major nations of the era, controlling diplomacy, economy, warfare, exploration, and colonization. A grand strategy experience.

Infested Planet (-75%)
Action sci-fi 2D RTS game where you command a team of 5 elite soldiers against an alien horde of 100,000. Surrounded on all sides, you must outmanoeuvre and outsmart the enemy. The aliens are constantly mutating. One moment your shotguns are ripping through the horde, the next the aliens grow hard, bullet-proof armour. You must adapt as well. Equip your team with stealth suits, miniguns, grenade launchers – your commands will decide the battle's outcome.

Against the Storm (-15%)
This early access roguelite city builder is set in a fantasy world where it never stops raining. You are the Queen’s viceroy — a pioneer sent into the wilds to establish and manage new settlements inhabited by beavers, lizards, and humans. Your goal is to survive long enough and gather the valuable resources necessary to rebuild and upgrade the Smouldering City. It’s the only safe haven against the Blightstorm — a vile cycle of destruction ravaging everything in its path.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun (-90%)
Hardcore RTS stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period. Take control of a team of deadly specialists and sneak in the shadows between dozens of enemies. This title received overwhelming praise and for a good reason. Choose your approach when infiltrating mighty castles, snowy mountain monasteries or hidden forest camps. Set traps, poison your opponents or completely avoid enemy contact.

and many more!

Take the leadership and show that you are the ultimate strategist. Sale lasts until November 8th, 11 PM UTC.

Niggles: Which are the recent RTS's (if any) are actually RTSs and actually good?
If you like Company of heroes, Iron Harvest is pretty good RTS. The online is dead, but it have lengthy campaign with four factions and offline AI skirmish. The new Star ship troopers game was good as well.

Iron Harvest is the only recent RTS worthy of mention IMHO, out of the ones available on GOG and in this sale.

Beside that, the only thing promising on the upcoming RTS front is Tempest Rising. And possibly the sequel to Sins of a Solar Empire.

However both are yet unreleased and their coming to GOG is uncertain at best.

I'm praying TR is good and coming to GOG, if not at least make the game drm free.

Why was Infested Planet removed from sale?

wildapple-SI: Why was Infested Planet removed from sale?
My guess: due to publisher's request (the game was probably erroneously added to the sale by GOG).

Edit: typo

Yeah, this will probably be a "good old game" in 20 years or so, but I doubt that between Stardock and the EGS anyone is going to have a good experience with it while in dev or even after release (DLC bandwagon ensues). Fortunately the first game in the series is still an amazing 4X space RTS, so no reason not to keep playing it for now.
