Leroux: But the great thing about FRUA is that its graphics are customizable, by design and also via modding. So if you play hacked modules, it won't always look like in those first two images, instead it might even look like in the last two imaged I attached.
That's quite an improvement from the first to the last images. :)

tomimt: There's actually some pretty handy tools made for the old SSI games, like automappers which do make living a hell of a lot easier.

All Seeing Eye for Eye of Beholder

And a Gold Box Companion for the Gold Box games.
I'm an old-school mapper (pencil and graph paper), but you definitely earned a "Cheers!" and an upvote for sharing these.

Do you know from which modules are these images? They look very interesting.

frua1.jpg (left to right, top then bottom row):
The Sect by Ben Jockisch (thesect.zip)
One Neverwinter Night by Nol Drek (onenwn.zip)
Oddities by Two-Bit Termite a.k.a. hans (oddities.zip)
(old picture preview for the Oriental Adventures worldhack, not from a specific module, I think)

frua2.jpg:
Major Mystery Chapter 1: "To Smell A Rat" by hans (mj-m-1.zip)
BH1: Mad Mesa by Goldboxfan (madmesa.zip)
X-Anime by Rocco Taku a.k.a. hans (x-anime.zip)
Blight on the Barrow by Goldboxfan (blight.zip)

You can find the files under the corresponding letters and names in the UA File Archive.

The majority of these are short story-telling modules under 2 hours, The Sect on the other hand is an epic Goldbox-style module (~30 hours), and it might be one of the most extensive, ambitious and creative modules ever created for UA, highly recommended, as long as you're fine with it being a bit humorous. :)

Thanks a lot! There are so many modules that it is hard to choose, but your screenshots got me interested.

Hmm . I think it's time to purchase the D&D series .
Curious question, i have all the BG and IWD games, but on the purchase list in the Items you already own section, it only mentions IWD 2 complete.

Doesn't bother me, I'm just curious.

Cheers!

I guess it's because the original versions of IWD, BG & BG 2 were removed from the store as independently purchasable items. You should still have them in your library, but since they don't have a page in the shop anymore, they are not listed as owned. They are now included as extras in the according "Enhanced Editions" by Beamdog instead, which aren't part of the classic D&D sale but have their own (more expensive) Enhanced Editions Beamdog sale. IWD 2 is still part of the classics because there is no IWD 2 EE version yet.

+1

Oh, OK, I didn't know that, thanks very much for the reply Leroux :)
Basically if you already have the Original versions of BG 1 and 2, Icewind Dale, and PT in your GOG library, you still have them, and for that reason you do not get the code for the original editions that come with the EE versions. I think all the code that comes with the EE versions do is add the games to your library.

FRUA was indeed the Neverwinter Nights of the DoS era.

So when is Gog getting Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance?

That's only true for the "EE" version of Planescape: Torment. When you buy the "EE" versions of Baldur's Gate 1+2 and Icewind Dale you do get a gift code for the classic versions, even if you already own them.
