Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

billybgame: Thought I posted this before, but the forums got funky. So, here goes again:

Is Startopia that good? I've always been a Civ player, so was pondering it, and poof, it was gone lickity split. Was kinda surprised.

Also, was that one Last Chance, or will it be back around?

CorranHorn: Yes, if you like games from Bullfrog like Theme Park and Theme Hospital then Startopia is awesome. No the game hasn´t been on last chance yet. ROTT is the first game.
If that´s the case, I´ve to try it soon. I love both Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper, but never tried Startopia... (I already own it, just haven´t played it yet).
OK I'm done for this sale, if anyone has Thief 1 they can gift let me know ^_^

Final Buys

Thief 2
Tomb Raider 1+2+3
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum
Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition
Tropico 3 Gold
Crossworlds GOTY
Thief 3

BeorntheBear: I'm back; logged on through my phone. What did I miss?
Well, if you had hoped to have missed "Jack Keane 3: Even keaner" you are in for some major disappointment.
Humm did Triad go up? I swear it was lower before I went to take a massive dump.
Somebody knows how gog calculate the number of lefts copies? if someone click the button its already count as a sold copy? i ask because yesterday a bought BG2 but and error happened. Later, when that game was already gone, i tried to visit the page where the error happened, and it allow me to buy it with the same discount that before (after more than an hour). Probably is enough people click the button but without buying, the counter still moved on. I don't know, i try to test it but the counter moved more than one :/

I only scored 1 game in this sale so far - Aquanox 2 for $1.99 (and missed about a dozen free games). But i can't complain - 1 game is better than nothing. :D

trebor8273: seems the games are getting a third run
Round 3... ? SWEET!

Aemenyn: They should finish the sale with a single copy of Jack keane 2, just to see how long it lasts.
Then follow it up after with 999 more just to make people scream

drinnen: I don't suppose there is a post somewhere that someone has kept track of which games have already gone on the last chance saloon so I can see if the 3 I'm after are gone or not.. Not sure I can be bothered hanging around for uncertainty.
Here's the link to the list from Round One:

RotT is the first "Last Chance" title.

That didn't format right...

So you've got me by one game. The two games I really wanted and got to the check-out, the stock ran out before I could actually net them.

So many sads, so little time.
Any idea when the promo ends? I've been away for a majority of it but am home tonight and maybe get lucky with some of the games I've seen on sale.
It's gonna take hours to sell all theose RotT games ... a good time to get some sleep :-)

not really everything will move a lot slower. every title could be a new keane!

billybgame: I've never played any of those Bullfrog games....just Civ, all the way since Civ 1.....mainly my faves, Civ 2 and Civ 4. Dabbled with Alpha Centauri.

So, that's why I was hesitating and pondering. Looked colorful and graphically well done, though.
Startopia is a game where you are managing a space station but not without competition from the AI (parts of the station are closed to be accessed the more you play. Your job is to manage all sorts of things, like buying things to get more people coming to your station and medical things to keep them healthy. There is also some combat involved when you get near the AI.

Not many games, if any, are like Startopia, it´s very funny and has the man from QI as narrator (can´t remember his name).
