Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

MobiusArcher: You would be surprised what people will take if you put a "free" sign on it.

Johnmourby: GOG should put this to the Test. Masters of Orion 3 for free.
Do you really want this sale to get stuck forever? :)
I've seen all the free games so far, but not gotten a one. I suspect you need to be either proximal to the servers in Warsaw or a bot to have much of a chance.

I really appreciate the spirit of this sale and the way it is being done. GoG already sells games at low prices that seem to me to be very fair. They could end up de-valuing the titles they sell by having constant near-fire sales but they don't do that. The daily sales are appropriate, so are the weekend sales and themed sales, relative the price they regularly sell the games at. This sale is a fire sale and I think that it's done right: a limited quantity of a given title is on sale at an incredible discount but only a limited quantity.

If a sale is missed GoG still sells at very fair prices and the holidays, as well as holiday sales, are coming up. It's not a big deal. And if someone finds it too inconvenient to go back and forth to the front page to catch the sale...well, I don't have anything positive to say. I would question their judgement about being will to go out on Black Friday, if they are indeed so willing, if they were to say that this sale is too inconvenient.
I have to force myself to leave now. I can't waste my whole day watching the GOG front page just to avoid missing a good deal by doing something else. This promo is incredibly anti-productive.

Cocoal: I think that too. Its imposible be so fast

sunshinecorp: Ah, all this reminds me of the "rare-grabbing thieves" of Ultima Online back in the days...
I didn't even see Populous showing up.

PaterAlf: I think I'll take a break. Bought enough for today.

mondo84: You want to pull yourself away but know you can't. :P
You seem to know me pretty well. Bought another game.

tinyE: Cute, it's telling me I don't have games that I have. :P

Final game on sale then? Considering how hated Omerta is round here MO3 might enjoy it's best success ever here.

I can totally waste my whole day doing that.

Nor did those who bought it.

It's a promo for people who are more interested in prices than in games. The blink-you-missed-it games were acquired by people who hardly cared about which game it was...

Sale? You want MO3 to SELL? Now you're pushing it, we were only saying people would take their time getting it for free.
I doubt anything else that I want besides Tropico 3 will be free. Even now I begin to doubt anything else on my wishlist will appear.
What is wrong with people? Why didn't SotS: The Pit go instantly? It's awesome!
