Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Ack rise of the triad, I all ready bought it at 50% off when it first came out, why re-do the exact same %?
Rise of the Triad means it broke the original list again. Perhaps Jack isn't showing up after all :P

morganic: Appears to be following this list right now.

Not really.
This is pretty good for the price if you were considering getting it.

Have a fairly good PC though to run it smoothly.

My plan was a success!

Every time we realize it's not randomized anymore, they randomize it again =P

Thus moving us closer to the big names, in theory..

Ungunbu: so what the next freebie will be???
It's always random, nobody knows.

Thanks for answering, some1 wrote here that 5th game from now will be XYZ, so I thought there is a list somewhere which I can't find.

It has been random a lot. And now and then they do 3 in a row off that original run list

binn05: That is called "addiction"...

hedwards: Pretty much, I'm out of here. At this point, I'm annoyed enough that I'm probably not even going to log in again until the end of the promo. I might have bought something, but seeing the freebies come and go so quickly that I barely see them, has really left a bad taste in my mouth.
If this sale is ever repeated, I will program my own client-side bot with a basic heuristic for games that I want and a spending cap.

I might even put it on GitHub for others to do the same.

I find it an extremely manipulative promo.

Humble suggestion to GOG staff -
Next time you proceed with a promotion like this? Add more freebie games.
Make sure the window for retrieving said items is, I don't know, 1/100th of a second or less?
Just something beyond human reaction time.
Then, make the freebies really extravagant from time to time. Stuff like, say, a hundred dollars worth of items for free.
But only if you're fast enough.
And no, this is not sarcasm. Rather, it is a heartfelt wish.
Thank you. =)
my guess is they have a list but sometimes they do jumps. Also some titles are willingly skipped for some reason

This may well be so. Many people are going to be disappointed if they are only listing certain games once.

True. SS2, Don't Starve, Divinity DC, I don't remember seeing those again. Although I don't know if Divinity can sell again with that price tag. I mean, look at Jack's second time xP

brunosiffredi: I hope somebody at GOG.com realizes this sale was a bad idea. It's obvious that using bots is the only way to get a free game. It's also obvious that there is no need to limit the number of copies of games on sale.

When Steam does flash sales (during the summer sale), they do a poll with three options to choose the next item to go on sale. This way, customers are able to know if they have a reason to wait around for the next flash sale or not.

This sale is disrespectful towards customers.
Missing the forest for the trees.

I can't believe it is the freebies, of all things, what makes people say this sale (sale, as in exchange of money for a cheapened commodity) is terrible.
