Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

justanoldgamer: Thousands of teenagers with reflex faster than lightning hovering their mouse cursor over the [buy now] button and clicking instantly when the new game appear without waiting to see what it is or if it is free. No bots necessary to make it impossible for the most of us, or at least me. I'm 49 and it does not take a bot to beat my reaction speed.
I'm also pretty sure it's not just lightning reflexes. Judging by the posts on this thread, some people don't even see the offer at times. It probably has something to do with how the refresh script for the counters works and the line latency. Most of the time I was getting the "sorry" page, a number of times I got the bear, 2-3 times I got the error page, and I won Master of Magic (yay, saved one whole buck I wouldn't have spent anyway /facepalm ).

Odonnell435: How is Shadow Man for PC compared to its console versions?
It's vastly superior, considering it's the original version. I definitely recommend it.

nijuu: I doubt it. Jack Keane 2 stuffed the sale for close to 5 hours......

honx: this free order-thing is totally unfair!
you need to be fucking rich and you need to have a ultra-fast internet connection to get a free game!
I don't thing so, this is mostly about ping and how close you are to GOG's servers, polaks have much better chances to win i guess. I have pretty fast connection 120/12Mbtps, but with my 14ms ping it's impossible even when i click in first moment when free game is displayed (0,2s - 0,3s).

PepsiDude002: I have 120MB download speed and it's still very slow for me. Honestly, it makes me wonder if people are using bots or scripts to get the free games first (assuming it's possible).

Artificer: Anyone who can either program or afford a bot/script has better things to do with their time and/or money than cheat you out of one chance at not paying $5.
I dunno, there is a lot of people on the internet with too much free time after all :)

Just look at Steam's holiday giveaway years ago. People made 200-300 accounts just to farm free games.
BTW, I went to sleep on the Jack Keane fiasco and just woke up. I didn't miss System Shock again, right?
i hope this is the last lot of repeats and the sale ends, if they do another repeat and increase the amount of games in sales can see us being here for weeks. imagine how long a 1000 copies of jack keane 2 would take to sell out!

On the plus side, if you want something to do while you wait on other games, it's got some rather interesting new reviews now.
