Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Oh yes, as marketing it's particularly effective.
Oh, and if more will be put up at once, the chance to miss out would likely be even greater, because they'd run out that much quicker. Plus that they'd need far more server power and bandwidth to keep up with the particularly sought-after ones.

Just hope they'll put up a list at the end, just for curiosity's sake:
[game name] - [#] copies at [price] ([#]% off) plus [#] free copies
(The last part just for those that had free copies, of course, if not all will.)
Come on GOG mix it up a bit.I dont want to wait for the first 15 games to be repeated as the last 15 of the 2nd run...
Come on!, The real texas is good adventure, buy it please. I pick up in a take 5 and pay 1 promo.

Ungunbu: it's probably true. Anyway sometimes the payiment fails and u risk to somehow lose your chance to get the game
Probably that had happened when I tried to acquire Space Colony. Oh, well. If I miss it again, revenge for me someone. :D
im just waiting on that special game to pop up (dont know which one itll just be a gut feeling) and i will call that it for the sale well done gog on a clever and effective marketing strategy that certainly got people talking and visiting hope to see it again some time (differant games tho please lol )

tammerwhisk: Though the free games have been a little disheartening (although I did get omerta free), my only real complaint is that each game is a separate transaction which multiple small transactions over a short period tends to trigger account security measures.
At least u got one. Most of us got nothing.

Yeah, that is a bit of a bugger.

If people wouldn't game it (and they would), I'd like to be able to just be able to add a copy to the cart and pay all at once; the problem is that there are plenty of people who would just grab a copy of everything and then go through their cart deciding what they wanted to keep without the time limit.
Nice, haven't missed any games I wanted due to sleep. I thought for sure Don't Starve would pop up during that time.

Cannot believe JK2 was a freebie after taking 5 hours to sell 100 copies. Hilarious! (Or infuriating if you were one of the kind souls who bought the game).

CoolMajkl: Okay, so you are telling me to buy it? :D
Hell yeah... as mentioned, not the best graphics, but if that is what you're interested in, you wouldn't be here in the first place, so buy, play it, play it again, it great.

Just played it with buddy... still holds up.

You just need more coffee. Keep going until you can actually feel your eyes beginning to bug out of your skull. Then have one or two more cups and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, there's no simple solution. Something akin to steam wallet for GOG could work, but that could potentially be an utter nightmare to implement.

This is a pretty valid point (although my PayPal account was perfectly OK with series of few bucks transaction in matter of few minutes), but I bet if it will be allowed to "store" your purchases in your cart, we will be stomped flat by swarm of "heardsmen" who just greedy and blindly gather frikkin EVERYTHING and canceling 95% of it later.

If I used my CC instead of paypal I'd be dealing with a phone call or two this morning from the fraud department requiring me to confirm my account usage.
