Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Fuma: Please do not make sales like this ever again. I like free games and cheap games like everyone else, but all this timer and limited amount sale does is make normal customers angry. How am I to buy something that ends in 5 minutes? Just opening my banking tab and verifying all the payments takes more (no, f you paypal, no f you visa) time.

And free games? That's a joke for bot users that autoclick every second two hundred times spamming and no normal person has a chance in hell to get 1 of 24 free games.

It's a cheap move and I will not take part in this promo even if I could buy a game I want cheaper. I'm not supporting this and don't want to inflate your sales. This is highly annoying and maybe 13 year old impulse buying monkey children find it fun, but not normal people.
I was too annoyed at the sale in the beginning It's really not that bad though, granted the freebies are nigh impossible to get. However, the other sales are mostly really great and most people do have a good shot at them. As far as payment timer, its seems safe as soon as you get to checkout page and enter card info.

I'm not a 13 yr old impulse buying monkey, just an insomniac 30 something impulse buying monkey with limited funds that enjoys gog sales ^_^
ok, had some food break, what I missed since Larry?

Second that. Paradox of good game and meh game - good games disappear in a blink of an eye (missed space colony this way), meh games sit there for hours. While Jack Keane was on sale, I managed to: wake up, cook breakfast, eat breakfast, perform morning hygienic procedures, get to job (3 hours commute), complete morning task, make a coffee, had a briefing - and Jack Keane was still on sale.
And I barely could enter my card credentials while Space colony was gone. :D

mortalkombat: its the best horror fps/rps game ever as regarged by "true gamers"
if you are a true gamer you will love it & sh*t your pants while playing it.

ps: it has MODs improving visuals and graphics
and also increase the screen resolution

atmosphere and music score are epic!!!!
the main villain is regarded as the ultimate game-villain

tapeworm00: I second this. I played it again recently with the graphics mods and it was a blast. Of course I knew what I was getting into this time, so it wasn't as scary, but it also gave me the chance to really explore the game's mechanics and man, does it stand the test of time.
they is a huge fan-group of devs behind the mods....they sit down on their own time, and made the compete (in the graphics/visuals department) to new releases...

note here: people who are too young in age, and people who play games because of their visuals, will be discouraged since the old visuals are bad (thats why the mods), but the mods reduced the frighting/scary element of the game, since this is an "atmospher-ic" game

also people who dont like dying, or getting frightened, will be discouraged, because this game requires skill, its not a plain shooter, with weapons on full ammo,

you can always check a walkthrough/gameplay video on youtube

btw, this game is one of its kind...not many sci-fi rps out there

Artificer: No worries. I'm probably a little lacking in my normal patience after being up all night.

Artificer: Well, I'm sorry you feel that way but the vast majority of people posting on this thread have been loving the sale, in spite of its issues so please leave the insults aside. Most of the people enjoying the sale are, in fact, "normal people" and not "13 year old impulse buying monkey children" as you suggest. I will avoid making any comparisons between your petulant tone and your own age but feel free to draw your own conclusions.
actually i'm having fun even if (as i stated before) i agree with the bots part
Too bad Supreme Commander/Forged Alliance isnt on here

Johnmourby: It's been over 12 hours since I was last here. Are they still putting out free games and are they still vanishing in mere seconds?
Yep

Haven't missed anything. The Real Texas is crawling along.

It was on Steam's sale recently, no? Weeklong, probably.
in which order r they repeating games? random?
On a side note, when you hit "Buy now" the system almost certainly reserves a copy long enough for your payment information to go through.
ive picked up a few good bargains but unsurprisingly missed out on the freebies but hey ho as im UK with the currency exchange rate the prices are even better just over £1.50 for a game damn cant go wrong
Wow, the sale is still going. How long did it take Jack Kean to sell out?
They changed something on the page. You now get a whirly green thing when you buy. That didnt happen before.
