Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Did Heroes of Might and Magic 3 sale repeat it self?

GabiMoro: Did Heroes of Might and Magic 3 sale repeat it self?
Pretty sure it did at some point, if not several times. I know I missed it once earlier and bought it when it came up again.

HertogJan: For those still waiting on some games, I hope Wargame: European Escalation won't come along again.

100 copies took 31 minutes yesterday.
avatar
Artificer: You're way late to the party, earlier today/last night 100 copies of Jack Keane 2 took 4.5 hours to sell.
those 4 hours were perfect. That was my entire work shift. ^_^
WTF?! How many games I bought last night?! Oh my god...

Artificer: I should add something to my response; as previously stated, I've not played ME3. However, I have several friends who have and whose opinions I highly respect and they tell me that if you ignore the bits that enraged everyone, the other 98% of the game is an excellent game.
Problem is, that I'm not with "everyone". Yes, I don't thing that "minus ending game is 100% perfect". Quite the contrary, I'm still strong in my stance over it - ending is not worst part of the game, it is on par with rest of the game and the rest of the game is just that bad.
After "Citadel" DLC I'm even more inclined to believe that ending was done that way on purpose - to draw attention from the rest of the game flaws, like chaff and flares, used by aircrafts to draw enemy missiles away. Seeing warm welcome that DLC received, I wonder, how many people actually remember that chronologically events still occur prior traffic light and "little blue baby" in the end, so you still have to eat manure after dessert.

avatar
Artificer: I'm inclined to believe them on that and accept that most people on the internet cannot see the forest for the trees.
Oh, well, then I'm among those people. Still better than be among if I remember correctly, entintled whiners, and nitpickers. :D Also among someone else, but I just don't remember.

avatar
Artificer: It wouldn't be the first time I've had to rewrite an ending in my head for my own satisfaction, heh.
Jedem das seine - if you have to reqrite events in your head, then, probably, authors failed.

avatar
Crowned: To be honest, I liked it quite a lot, even for it's shortcomings.
I'm happy for you.:)
For me ME3 has so many little details done wrong, so I can't ignore them anymore, because game fails to deliver something to compensate. ME1 and ME2 werent' perfect, but they delivered. ME3? Nope. Nose down dive.

avatar
Crowned: Getting the series finished perfectly would have been a godly task if you ask me, and they did fine.
Unfortunately I can't agree with you.:) I think they've failed, royally, sideways.
And it has nothing to do with "shepard death". Since some people may have missed certain games, I'm not sure I can list games where protagonist dies here. But let's say it doesn't make game "bad" for me. If it's presented and explained normally, then I'll have no problems with it. For example, it's nobody's secret, but Geralt dies in "Saga", yet I don't think that Andrzej Sapkowski failed. Quite the contrary, Witcher is one of my favorite series ever. Witcher series, and those other media where protagonist dies didn't left "WTF I just saw, and spent 75 hours of my life and more than $240 on?"
So, no, sorry, maybe bEAware should've learn from someone else?

avatar
Crowned: Not GOTY material, but I'm not surprised someone has liked it that much either.
People like Bieber or whatever. And even more strange persons. :)
Neverwinter nights 1 has appeared in second round?

GabiMoro: Did Heroes of Might and Magic 3 sale repeat it self?
Don´t think so, at least I haven´t seen it more than once.
And the next is... Jack Keane 2 !
avatar
GabiMoro: Did Heroes of Might and Magic 3 sale repeat it self?
Yes it did repeat. I bought it actually when it was up once again :)
I hope this slow Larry sale is caused by too many people having the game already,

Because you know, Larry is awesome.

I KEEL YOU!

mkiskissian: And the next is... Jack Keane 2 !
Three times, no thanks.

Artificer: Occasionally, the game stepped outside of that and the action really came through. I can remember a few moments, especially in some of the DLC.

Pounding my way through the baddies to get rescued before hurtling into the sun at the end of Arrival was one of those moments. Sniping Collector monstrosities in their ship in the first game. Beating a path through the Geth across the outside of the Citadel. Everything about Kasumi's recruitment mission. Fighting off an attacking gunship through the windows of Garrus' apartment on Omega.

Most of the time it was fairly humdrum but the action absolutely had its moments.

tammerwhisk: Well to be fair I guess ME1 did have some moments that I really enjoyed. Disliked the way EA milked story dlc, so my cheapness probably kept me from experiencing some of the better segments.
I certainly wouldn't recommend all of them, but Kasumi, Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker were all well worth playing.

Arrival was more of a "moments" piece than a great piece of DLC since it had an awful lot of that "run and gun" but the good part was, no teammates. You got to do that one alone and it really made the end of it intense.

Lair had a lot of that too but it still came with some very unique and sexy environments, a really great and different fight (the boss is immune to gunfire iirc)... and of course brought Liara back.

Kasumi was just flat out awesome.

I wouldn't recommend Overlord unless you were crazy desperate to do vehicle missions again. It wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the price of admission.

Xabyer_B: Neverwinter nights 1 has appeared in second round?
Nope
Coming up: 1000 copies of Jack Keane 2!!! Yay!
