Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

ToxicCosmos: I believe it. It's like having a buzz, I guess. I was gonna add to that, but I've forgotten what I was going to say...

Ah, you just beat it. Got it. I hate having to wait to play a sequel when it's available somewhere... even when it's not. :P I feel you. :P

Devoidless: You know it's going to be a good night/day when you forget what you were about to say. Bonus points for running out of steam mid-sentence. That's a blast.

Sod it, I'm admitting defeat to Leisure Suit Larry. He's outlasted me. Which is a series of sentences I never thought I would utter.
If you stick around for much longer, I hope that NwN2 and System Shock 2 show up for you. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I had.

Same goes for everyone else. May the games you desire appear before you fall asleep in your chairs (or fall over twitching in a caffeine-fueled delusion).

Good night-morning-day-hour? I guess? Whatever you would call it.
g'night, dude. Hopefully there'll be another round or two of games.

gandalf.nho: How's sales are going? Only games repeating in the last 12h or something new appeared in the meantime?
Middle of the 2nd run
avatar
tu32: Almost half now.

I found this yesterday. Never seen moving pictures of Kowloon Walled City before

Crowned: Woah, thanks a bunch!
Np, glad I helped :D

Gee. Played a bit hearthstone and LSL went just 150 down.

Only repeating....

Artificer: Actually, koalas are more likely to want depressants.

Eucalyptus is a mild narcotic and the end result of them eating it all the time is that they're constantly half-stoned; thus why they typically seem so slow and dopey, in part.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Okay, so what you're saying is that the koala isn't only armed, but enraged due to drug withdrawal and prone to sudden irrational behavior. Great. Less of a concern when I figured they just wanted the coffee.
I consider ANYTHING that wants to take my coffee a greater immediate concern than anything else.
avatar
Artificer: No, you want hardcore?

I dislike GTA 3 and up for the same reason =P
avatar
RudyLis: I don't like GTA in general, does it makes me hardcore? :D

/time to start polygons haters club, I guess I'll fit, since my favorite RPG of 2012 was not mass defekt 3, but Inquisitor. All hail to the Sprites! Pen and paper FTW! Long live dices!
I still refuse to play ME3 at all due to the Origin requirement.

That being said, I like new RPGs, classic RPGs and pen-and-paper RPGs. ;)

Crowned: I'm back. Exam went fine, what if the spicy pizza I ate yesterday decided it was time to come out the other end. Don't ask, I survived writing at mach 2.3 and finishing in less than an hour.

I hope I didn't miss anything precious.
avatar
groundhog42: Glad the exam went well for you. Hope your pizza experience wasn't like this!

It was... less violent than I would have thought.

Now I am pondering if I am man enought to buy Larry.

mrking58: I still think they should of added LSL 4 in this pack. I so want to play it
You are aware that it doesn't exist, right?
i see another 276 copies of leisure suit larry left, is that correct?

did you see system shock 2 in the second round?
avatar
tammerwhisk: There are actually people that liked ME3 enough to call it a favorite?
Apparently there are hell lot of them. There even people who like it so much, so they named it GOTY. or RPGOTY, don't remember. I wonder how many of those aren't working for bEAware, though.
I don't get the other thing - when you fail outside gamedev, you'll get punishment of some sort. When you fail in gamedev, you get away with it simply calling it art and punish people who tell you've failed.

Like George Carlin said: maybe I'm not supposed to understand that.

Not always. If you're EA, you get away with it. If you're publishing the third game in a massively successful series that's guaranteed to sell hundreds of thousands of copies, if not millions, on the first day then yeah, you get away with it.

If you're most other companies you take a major loss and often have to close your doors.

It hasn't been yet, no. I'm waiting for it too. :P

I should add something to my response; as previously stated, I've not played ME3. However, I have several friends who have and whose opinions I highly respect and they tell me that if you ignore the bits that enraged everyone, the other 98% of the game is an excellent game.

I'm inclined to believe them on that and accept that most people on the internet cannot see the forest for the trees.

It wouldn't be the first time I've had to rewrite an ending in my head for my own satisfaction, heh.
