Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

I really wish I could up you for that more than once.

Artificer: I HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT THE NEXT 104 COPIES OF POSTAL 2 ARE THE BEST GAME EVER
I meant Postal 2 is the best example of a modern day shooter the PC has ever seen. Did you know it was used by NASA for training?

Daliz: LOL

Now just buy the damned Postals so I can get my NWN diamond, k thx? :)
I'd gladly give you mine if I could. Bought it a few months ago and it never worked. Only time I've ever had that problem with GoG.
Postal 2 is the best game to play after a long day.

I wouldn't recommend it to someone who loves headshots and all that but it is a weird FPS
Postal 1 was fun back in the day. Postal 2 I've yet to play and still backlogged due to dismal reviews. Sometime I'll get around to playing the game....sometime.
There were a few instances I can recall where the game would disappear from your shelf if you didn't download it right away as warned. It had to do with the Colin McRae Rally games we used to have I know, I don't know of any others.

I have Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics here, still it'll suck hard to see them go from here. Those games really feel like a staple of this site. I guess we'll wait and see if we see a major sale of all three games happen several days before their rights expire or if GOG is somehow able to convince the profits-calculating software programs that run both Bethesda and Zenimax that the games actually SOLD here, and well, despite no DRM whatsoever and that they can stay.

Pretty much the same. I found the best tactic was if you have a middle mouse button (like a mouse wheel), to use that to click on the Buy Now button. Just click it about 20 times when a free game pops up, so it would open 20 tabs. I managed to get quite a few of them successfully. 100% of the tabs would have the bear or some sort of error, but I would still get the Order email and the game appeared on the shelf.

Nesoo: I'm kind of surprised that Postal 2 is going so slowly*... does everyone have it already? I mean, you can run around with your fly undone, scaring people and pissing on them! Who wouldn't love that? ;-)
Me perhaps? Wouldn't even pay a quarter for that. Hell, I'd pass on it even if it was free. Played the demo of it a long time ago just to see and thought it pretty.. well.. tasteless. Yeah, yeah, now someone's going to drudge up the whole "But you don't have to do any of that stuff!" line, but come on! If one just does the banal stuff there really is no point for it even existing. Anyway... No, thanks.
If only GOG would keep the number of copies for each game even at 200. That way the sale would move on much faster, barring the Jack Keane's of course.

Maybe, just maybe, their new sale method has a little unexpected sideeffect. :D

Honestly speaking, for that price I'd totally pick it up if I were at all keen on FPS games.

A complete abuse and devaluation of the rating system? Nonsense.
