Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Is it even humanly possible to grab the free games, even if you have an excellent internet connection? Even with the mouse pointer on the buy button and clicking immediately, the offer is taken up before the system recognises my request. God damned robots. In my day, you didn't need to have augmented reflexes to grab something quickly enough.

zeffyr: Grabbed! Lucky day :-D

Artificer: That's your third, Zeffyr. Stop cheating. Or being Polish. Whichever applies in this situation.
I guess Internet at work is faster than at home. But still, being in Poland might be the clue...

Ghorpm: Blacksmith's equipment has the same price all the time. Getting two or three blood items is a very good idea - true, it'll decrease your health but it also adds vampirism so you'll be able to heal yourself. Try to use it with barbarian - you should be able to survive long enough to make some decent profit

rtcvb32: Yeah, love vampirism. Most of the time I end up with 90%+ health, but it doesn't take more than one or two rooms to deplete my health.

I don't know. Maybe my play style is defective.
Then try to grind some gold. The best way is to get Spelunker. Not only he gets +30% income bonus but he can also see where chests are located. Try to avoid fighting, just try to open as many chests as you can.

Back in 80s I played a lot C64 platformer games and they were hard as nails (in many cases a single hit = death) so I guess I became really experienced after that. I stopped playing Rogue Legacy after beating New Game 6+. It took me 172 heirs and ~27.5 h

It's a conspiracy, where bots and Polish people work together to get all the free games!

Dude, there are like 5000 of us doing exactly that. Do you think you are so special or why do you expect only robots to beat you?

I think you need to be really lucky, they go away so fast... Anodyne blinked into existence and even before picture finished loading it changed to Postal. real crazy

Hackworthy: It's selling at a rate of 50 Keanes a minute!
LOL :-)
Polish robots! Robotski!
avatar
darkmoment: It would be good if there Fallout series are in this promo
Indeed, that's a series perpetually on top of my wishlist purely based on how highly it is spoken of here on the forums. Plus it is leaving GOG in January so it'd be nice to see it on sale deep discounted before then.

Dammit, I'm Slav, I should have been informed of the plan before you outsiders!

Apparently the sarcasm of my post didn't get through clearly enough. I've bought all of my GOG games, except the "out of beta" gift, Empire Earth and Torchlight. As I wish to support GOG as a business, I don't feel entitled in the slightest that I should get free games.

Lol
Saw several free games, but wasn't able to get a single one. This is honestly the most annoying "promo" ever. A waste of time, nothing more.
Couldn't buy the only game I wanted (NWN Platinum) because of high server load. Too bad, GOG.com. I will get it soewhere else.

Yes it is but you need to be damn lucky to get one, after you pressed wait a while and see if you got a mail from GoG, this has happend to some people (got Master Of Orion 1+2 even though the server gave me the error message).
Looks like Postal 2 gives us a break.
