Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Frostyfirefly: I'll get back to you on that one after I reconfigure and set priorities to all my new games X_x
avatar
BananaJane: Have you thought about upgrading to windows 7?
No, I actually learned a lot about the inside workings of my system with it. Kinda like when you get hit so many times you become so incredibly tough and resistant to pain :p

liamphoenix: Of course if they decided to sell X Rebirth without Steam I'd do the same thing as if Bethesda dropped that junk from Skyrim, instabuy.
avatar
gbaz69: I'd only buy a Bethesda game if it was drm-free and $4.99 or less, because they are incomplete buggy games.
I still do very much like Bethesda game... only in part to the modding compunity FIXING their game for free for Bethesda.
I like their games, but I don't have Fallout 3, New Vegas, or Skyrim because of the DRM thing.

Oblivion just had disc check, don't know why they have to break it for their customers, we all know pirates aren't dealing with that junk.

nijuu: System Shock 2, Nexus, NWN, BG2, BG1,IWD, Don't Starve , Age of Wonders Shadow Magic, Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav . Deus Ex GOTY,Space Colony, The Witcher 2,Rogue Legacy, Planescape, Brutal Legend all havent come up a second time as of yet (as far as i can tell)
Thank you. I could be wrong but I think one if the Baldur's Gates repeated, I think it was 2.
And thank you so much to all the people buying just to push Megabyte Punch over the line :D

Frostyfirefly: What's that game about?

CorranHorn: The X-series have a pretty steep learning curve, think a more hardcore Elite where the main focus is exploring.
Theoretically the latest game is still just as complex, if not more so but they claim to have significantly smoothed the learning curve and given that ridiculous interface and set of commands (my only real gripe with the series) a real ironing.

For some amusement for the uninitiated, enjoy the *basic* X3 keyboard map:

Wow 6 left O_O

That went fast. ^_^

animalmother2105: I pity you guys from the US. Most of us in here in Euriope were able to participate in the first loop, where the games went quickly. Sitting through 5 hours of Jack Keane must be like hell ;).
avatar
MrDrWatson: I was on that first loop and the games just went too fast, on the other hand now they're too slow... :-)
Have they really looped though? They had repeating games even early during this promo, and then new games occasionally popping in first as limited freebies and then as sale items.
I already own just about everything that's been on sale so far, bought Megabyte Punch just to advance this madness (couldn't bring myself to do that with JK2 though). I was really hoping Battle Worlds: Kronos would show up, but so far I haven't seen it.

Correct. You can't play any vanilla Bethesda game unmodded.

SpellSword: Wow 6 left O_O

That went fast. ^_^
In comparison to JK2?

Yeah, it did.
1 Left! O_O
Woke up early this morning, rolled over, turned on pc and the game I had been waiting for last night was up so I quickly nabbed it (Reus). The vicious cycle starts another day. GOG STOP THIS MADNESS!
Tex Murphy Under a Killing Moon 200 @ 2.49
Wow, Tex MUrphy 3 Awesome!
That's it, I'm out.
Damn it I already bought this game in this promo
