Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Frostyfirefly: And some of them don't work on Win 8.
avatar
liamphoenix: Does anything work on Win 8?

Win 7 is Like XP, it's where we sit and hope MS cleans up its mess with Vista/8.
See it the same way. I can sit out Windows 8.

I have no touchscreen, so I do not need it.

CarrionCrow: Have to stick it out. Ridiculously stubborn determination at this point. Sat through 5 hours of Jack Keane absurdity, have to at least grab what was intended if at all possible.
avatar
animalmother2105: I pity you guys from the US. Most of us in here in Euriope were able to participate in the first loop, where the games went quickly. Sitting through 5 hours of Jack Keane must be like hell ;).
Kinda like having someone slowly sanding skin from the bottoms of your feet. Negligible at first, then more and more obnoxious and increasingly painful.
avatar
BananaJane: But does anything?
avatar
Frostyfirefly: I'll get back to you on that one after I reconfigure and set priorities to all my new games X_x
Have you thought about upgrading to windows 7?
avatar
Frostyfirefly: What's that game about?
avatar
CorranHorn: The X-series have a pretty steep learning curve, think a more hardcore Elite where the main focus is exploring.
I see, that sounds cool; will keep an eye out for it.
avatar
Devoidless: Same. Well, mostly. I totally missed System Shock 2, and the server had a hissy fit when I tried to snag NwN2. My heart, it was broken.
avatar
ToxicCosmos: I got on at the tail end of the NwN2 sale. And missed it. So I know how you feel. </3
I'd bet they did another X-Mass sale for D&D, got NWN 1 & 2 as well as all the BG/IWD/PS/etc games for a real low price.
I guess it would have been better to have two lots of 50 mixed in the cycle than one loooong lot of 100, for example. Other games could have maybe been broken down a little further...cough Jack Keane cough....

BananaJane: Have you thought about upgrading to windows 7?
I tell that to all my friends that are running Windows 8.
avatar
liamphoenix: Of course if they decided to sell X Rebirth without Steam I'd do the same thing as if Bethesda dropped that junk from Skyrim, instabuy.
avatar
gbaz69: I'd only buy a Bethesda game if it was drm-free and $4.99 or less, because they are incomplete buggy games.
I still do very much like Bethesda game... only in part to the modding compunity FIXING their game for free for Bethesda.
Hey yeah! Can we get bethesda's Terminator on gog?
14 left. Rather curious to see what's next.
Is the GOG version of Megabyte Punch the Special Edition?

Megabyte Punch Special Edition contains:
Original Soundtrack (27 tracks) + 7 Wallpapers + 10 Custom Versus Levels.

At the moment the GOG Extras appear to only contain: 2 Wallpapers + Soundtrack + 4 Avatars.

What I really want to know is if it has the Custom Versus Levels?

It seems that Windows releases are like Star Trek films. Same curse.
I don't like how this promo unfolded, you had to be there the moment it started.
Later joiners like myself are living off of luck the games will come back around.

Maybe next time gog can advertise before the promo starts, giving everyone a chance to be there from the beginning.
I hope it last till thursday, before the weekend developer sale.

True. There's definitely hope for that should I somehow miss them this time around. :)
