Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Trilarion: I wouldn't give too much about it. After all it's clearly just some people having fun. It doesn't mean the game is really that bad, only that temporarily some people decided to simultaneously make fun of it.

You could even say it's a publicity for Jack Keane. This guy gets famous this way. Maybe people get curious what this is all about and buy him.

And the current Insomia sale game: Megabyte Punch sells like old bread, but still I don't see anyone posting funny pics about it.

jamyskis: I think we've hit the point where most of America is in bed, most of Europe is at work or at school, and the only ones on the site now are the unemployed, night-shift workers and those of us who work from PCs and have time to view the GOG site.

Also, Megabyte Punch is an ex-bundle game.
The ex bundle thing may play a part in why some of the indie games were so slow...... Australia & Asia is still wide awake......late arvo early evening...

Novotnus: If I was a Jack Keane developer and visited this topic... oh God, I don't want to think about it :)

I think the price difference played most of the factor of the Jack Keene game selling so slowly and at $12 or something that lasted or got stuck for 4 and so hours. Now say if Jack Keene went for sale like less than $5 I'm sure it would have sold alot faster and probably less made fun of or more or less.

animalmother2105: Holy moly...12hours?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Yeah. This sale speaks to multiple layers of OCD.
That's it for me too. I logged on with the intent to get three games, I should have cycled through them all by now, but JK2 threw a wrench in that.

I'm trying to force myself to stand down and get some sleep, but I just keep waiting a little more to see what pops next.
C'mon Megabyte, move it!

Yeah, but I can't imagine there being all that many Australian users, and certainly not many Asian users, especially not in comparison to Europe and the US.

Ghorpm: Morning guys! I've seen a few last copies of poor Jack, it surely took a lot of time! Megabyte Punch is also pretty slow...
So... anybody stayed here the whole time and watched every single deal?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Been here roughly 12 hours, and still waiting for what I missed the first time to roll back around.
Good morning to you as well. Sorry, the chair's starting to meld with my ass a bit, momentarily eroded my manners.
Wow, that's pretty impressive :) Which games did you miss?

liamphoenix: The game?

My PC wouldn't play it when it was released, probably should pick it up now that I have a beast.

Of course a great modern gaming PC has been a real pain for some of my old favorites, even one from GOG, Descent 3 does not like my computer.

CorranHorn: Sacrifice is a master piece, a really nice blend of RPG and RTS and the voice actors are among the best I´ve ever heard.
I do wish the graphics had been better, they really didn't do the game justice but the voice acting was amazing and they had some fairly big names.

Aside from Tim Curry, Persephone is my all-time-favourite Jennifer Hale. Castillo Grande was Charnel, Rob Paulsen was Zyzyx... and there were a bunch of others. A pretty all-star cast for 2000.
avatar
liamphoenix: I want Thomas was alone to come to GOG, it's on pretty much every other PC distribution system out there.
I'll buy a second copy the moment I see it here. Despite me already having played it and it being both short and linear. Same with Brothers: A tale of Two Sons.
avatar
Frostyfirefly: And now it has some pretty outstading reviews, marking it as the epitome of art and religion.
avatar
nijuu: We do have some funny people that come to GOG :D
Made some custom and special reviews, because they were bored to death.
avatar
BananaJane: Tim Curry's in it?
I guess I HAVE to play now.
avatar
Artificer: Tim was the single greatest reason to play Sacrifice.
HE'S IN THAT TOO?
I'm adding that to my download queue

Let's see....Deus Ex, Icewind Dale, Don't Starve, Nexus, maybe Geneforge, maybe Alpha Centauri.

Novotnus: If I was a Jack Keane developer and visited this topic... oh God, I don't want to think about it :)

zeffyr: It's highly possible that guys from Guantanamo are ordering Jack Keane 3 ;) (dark humour, forgive me:)
Must be ordered by Mr. Obama, because he is now responsible for Guantanamo.
Don't Starve and Jade Empire are the two I'm waiting for.

I missed Don't Starve, Jade Empire was gone before I could click on it.

Icewind Dale is pretty good, but in some cases very party specific. Good luck making it through the game with an all thief party ;)
I missed Icewind dale and boulders gate ( I got the second one though )
