Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

DulestDagger: Anyone else feel like Jack is literally holding Gog for ransom?
Agreed:-(

jjsimp: Canada? He is orbiting the Romulan homeworld.

Captain_Picard: I can't put that down as a location, Canada was the best next thing I could list as a substitute.
But... aren't you from France?
I'd gladly pick up Jack Keane for $5. Selling it for $12 is too much for me to justify.
Give Jack Keane 2 to everyone how complained here GOG.

Or even better everyone :)
THIS IS KEANE!!!

Next up... Wargames: European Escalation (the other slowest selling title) returns; because some people didn't get the hint with Keane 2 and continued to purchase anyway...

Daz12380: buy them first then we send a dollar

Kiroliegh: I don't have $700 to chuck out for the good of the people.

I am serious. If you can commit, I will buy every single copy that is up until I run out of donations.

Make a contribution to the Kill Keane foundation today!
so every 12 people buys 1 game so we need 672 peole
I'll bet you that if they had made the game $5 or something we wouldn't have this issue.

liamphoenix: Not a fan of the fake reviews though. Some of them are hilarious, but GOG is going to have to clean all of those up, there's only one actual review of the game on there.
They're actually asking to be reported as spam - not that it'd make any difference.
So, ok the game moves painfully slow, but the fake reviews are uncalled for.
Is it really that hard to go and occupy yourselves with something else while the remaining copies are sold?

ZapMcRaygunn: Poor Jack. He just doesn't seem to be very popular around here...
It's interesting how some games went in a matter of seconds, some were gone before they were up (free games) and some were gone as soon as you clicked on them.
I guess Jack Keane is not popular. I would buy it myself, but it's still a bit too expensive.
I did see a few free games, but I found the deals to be far more interesting. I'd rather pay a very low price for a game I really want than get something I don't really care for free, so I'm quite happy.
I got two on my wishlist for very low prices. For those who won free games, enjoy. Just curious- did you get the free games by clicking on the games just prior to them?
I actually learned some things today. It's interesting to see how different the speed of sales are, depending on titles and prices. I could see, really see, what topsellers are, and what definitly NOT.

DO YOU HEAR, JACK?

Maybe is's better to sell more games cheap, than putting a high price tag on it, hoping that a miracle happens.

totaldepravity: I hope I catch a sale for Carmageddon or disciples: sacred lands. Thanks for the awesome sale GOG!!
Good to know there are actually still people with hope here. You'll be taught a lesson by Jack soon.

Ok, I've been here since the start of the sale, out of boredom, let me share with you what I have purchased so far and why:

- System Shock for about $2.00, I've been hearing about this game since I wrote my college thesis and saw it in a book about video games and how they make us better learners. I also heard the ending sucks, but I will still play it to the end.

- Duke Nuke'em for about $2.00 as well, I started playing this classic on the 360 a long while ago, but left it halfway because I didn't like the "mouse and keyboardless" controls. Now it's time to finish it, hail to the king baby!

- Neverwinter Nights 2 for about $4.00, played and finished the first part a while ago, got really disappointed because the romantic interactions were so shallow, the ending was inconclusive, and the game was plagued with bugs. But now that some of that is fixed, I can give it another go and play the expansions.

- Sword of the Stars: The Pit for about $4.00, since Nightmare of Druaga Fushigi no Dungeon for PS2, I felt rogue-like games were an unexplored area in my gaming career, so here I am now, ready to face an adventure that will probably have me dying a hundred deaths before I finish it.

- A kind player gifted me Spellforce Platinum because I was looking to get it for free. I know almost nothing of the game, and I am very eager to play it because some people have told me it's better than it looks, a good mix of RTS and RPG.

Daz12380: dont you get enough adventure in space on all those planets
Adventures in space can wear you down pretty fast some days.
Each time I refresh the page to see the fun things that are written, the line pops up on top "deals that good, you won't want to sleep". The irony.
