Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

htown1980: This is an interesting insight into the bad gog gem promos. At the rate this is going, I suspect that it would not be uncommon for gog to sell less than 50 copies of some of the pretty bad games they have on their promos.

nijuu: Check the bottom 30 games on their Best Seller list. Gives u a good idea of what people dont like...
It saddens me that entomorph is down there (although admittedly a new game). I reckon it must have sold 4 copies...

McDon: Meh, I pretty much have all those games you mentioned :P

Melhelix: You have to admit though, they all have much higher turn over rates than this. Then again a dead squirrel probably has a higher turnover, so that's not saying much. The point is... uhm... oh! Right, the point is that anything that gets this gestalt moving again would be a plus. :)
Even Might and Magic IX would get more sales, those games were overkill. :)
Some of those reviews are hilarious...keep them coming. I hope they're kept as a constant reminder of what this game did to us.

EckoShy: Sooooo

How many games has everyone else bought form today's little shindig?

Myself I got 16.
One game, there were only four in the list that I wanted and didn't already own, missed three of them (damn that whole actually having things to do) and hoping they show back up.

Two that I would have picked up for free to give a chance, but hitting a free drop would require a serious internet connection and large doses of stimulants that make caffeine look like chamomile tea.

Nesoo: Hmm. I bet I could go back and read all 4556 posts in this discussion before JK2 sells out.
Bonus points if you can find the last time this game stalled out - and if anyone mentioned it :)

4, and free Omerta...so 4.5? 4.25?

MisterLovejoy: I bought one but am waiting for several including Inquisitor; my damned Time Warner went out from 1-3 Pacific today and I think I missed Neverwinter 2 :(
Yeah unfortunately. NWN2 1400 copies at 3.99 went in under like 1.5 minutes...
2. I was not aware of this sale until recently. I was busy buying DRM free games from the Humble Store before I heard about this sale.
Ok everyone, while we wait for Jack Keane to go away, you can write that novel / movie scrypt / huge project you were thinking about last year, you will probably finish half of it by tomorrow.

Flam3crow: Just 73 more guys.
Hey... where's my pillow?
71....bless you kind soul that purchased this. Tell your friends. Purchase more copies for your friends.

30, all of them Jack Keane 2, it's a great time to get it for a gifting thread, with it being so cheap and all.
I got 6 today.
Shame incredible machine or gobliiins never went on sale. They're two I've been wanting to play for years but never found 'em at a good enough price yet.
if someone will survive this he should change avatar to Jack Keane.
