Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Damn, missed whatever was between Retro City Rampage and Sword of the Stars. Could someone put SotS out of it's misery before I lose interest again.

Edit: Sure would be nice to have a multi-monitor setup.

JohnnyCash: Also got a free TA:Kingdoms. I don't really want it. Is it possible to trade here?
I will trade you 1 e-hug for that.

That's really all I have. :P

spitfire1966: This whole free game schtick is something I hope in the future is more well thought out.

As far as the sale goes, I have my cc - right here in front of me. Three attempts at purchasing shouldn't mean three errors when going through the checkout - but that has been my experience so far.

A complete and utter waste of time on my end. GoG can do better than this.

Celton88: That's weird. I've bought 3 or 4 games on the promo, and I haven't been very fast at inputting the cc info.
That's the thing. I think it is absolutely absurd that even though the game was available when you clicked the 'buy now' link, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be available enter your cc information. Once it's in your cart (if GoG actually had one in this case), you should be able to buy it.

I am not going to let my cc be hit by purchase after purchase that never actually goes through. My cc company may take issue with this, if indeed the transaction is started and then ended by GoG. How am I supposed to know exactly what is being sent, Riddick was already charged to my cc, but I have yet to hear back from GoG about this - because it is not in my library - and GoG should know better.

Dragnerok_X: Has WC Privateer already gone through round 2?
avatar
AttObl: As a (quick) freebie, yes.
Here's hoping it goes back on sale soon; near the top of my wish-list this sale.

If I could trade games from my collection I would actually go for it. :D

JakFox: Holy crap. Witcher 2 is going to be $5? Or has it already past?
It has already passed, but could very well return.
Did I missed Defender's Quest?

Melhelix: The sale is on a shuffle. All 102 titles have been through once already, many a second time. They randomly crop back up, so if you missed something the first time there is still a good solid chance to catch it.
I already got it awhile back. Just impressed at the price is all. Thanks though!
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is near the top of my wishlist, but based on last time, I REALLY hope it doesn't go back on sale.

israr665: Can you trade games on gog if so is any one willing to trade thief gold ?
avatar
JohnnyCash: As far as I know (now) you can only trade gift codes.
Confirmed. If you don't have the game on ur account initially its added automatically. If u buy same game on sale etc u get a 2nd code u can trade

xep624: 4000 posts holy crap...

nijuu: Is it a record?
I think so. There hasn't been any more active topic before, I'm sure. Even the XMas sales couldn't generate that...
welp, Pringer X defeated

now all that's left is Pringer Z and Baal

welp totally not doing that >_>

WillOfD: Did I missed Defender's Quest?
