Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

CorranHorn: Don´t Starve, a game about surviving, Minecraft and Terrariah are also games that are about surviving, to do this you need to create things that you combine from things you find in the game world. I´ve seen enough of Don´t Starve to see that it uses the same idea but in Terraria dying isn´t game over which it looks to be in DS;).

Schemilix: I think you replied to the wrong thread, bro. I was talking about somethin' else.
I just looked at the post, should´ve wrote that I was talking about Don´t Starve, now that I read it it looks like I´m talking about Defender´s Quest, my bad=).

vanchann: The best thing in this sale was this thread.
Thanks to all the people here.

I bought 11 games.
9 in the first round 1 in the second, which was the last I was interested in and an extra 1 in the third round.

I have already missed this thread.
Thanks GoG.com and everyone here.
+1
O.K. I have to tell one on myself. Just a few minutes ago I had posted that every time I post now I get blown back through the the Kingdom of Edor all the way to the Ages of Keane . Well, I just returned from reading a full page of posts before realizing where I was.

Time for some coffee and a walk outside ... BRB.... save my place for me please..
The empty feeling the ending of the sale leaves reminds me of a TS Eliot poem, "The Hollow Men". Here is a paraphrased version replacing "world" with "sale":

This is the way the sale ends,
This is the way the sale ends,
This is the way the sale ends,
Not with a bang but with a whimper.

Now good night, the insomnia is over and it's time to sleep....

The sale is over? Noooooo, what excuse am I going to have now to spend all my time browsing through this forum, and posting at all hours of the day and night?
Farewell to the insomnia sale....it was fun...
made much more so by the community in this forum
i do not recall there being a single cross word between members (but hey i might have missed one or two)
there were highs (for me getting system shock 2 as a freebie)
there were lows (KEANE, Omerta, ROTT)
there were laughs support and friendship aplenty
and an immense willingness to share games with another where possible

so in short

GOG........Thank You to all involved for putting the sale on well played
GOG community........Thank You for reminding me what being a true gamer is about
My Wife.......Thank You for not divorcing me for sleeping in front of the computer .. ;-)

Just to add i was a bit deflated and felt a bit anti-climatic that there was just a "this promo has ended" message at the least i would have liked to see a few SFX ( fireworks going off on screen that type of thing )

+1 to you too, since you feel the same.
I suppose I have to give +1 to everyone here too! :-)

I hope to have such nice company during the upcoming winter sale too.
Thanks again.
Yay! They have Nothingness GOTY up for 75% off! Come and get some!

(I really should stop with that joke :P)
Figured I'd drop back in for a post-mortem view.

Slowly downloading my spoils over a 2Mbps connection.

A little late to the End Times party. Real Life (TM) and my need for sleep kept me away. Missed the last sale of the last game... :(

But still, I'm glad to be part of this epic thread.. Not only did I pick up some nice games, but I had a great time with the GOG community and finally found a direction in my life with my new-found devotion to Keane-ism.

Thanks to GOG, everyone who participated in the thread and especially Kaitu for trading me for a missed game & KMJX for bearing the torch for The List.

I hope a great time was had by all.

Also, I have an extra copy of Jade Empire if someone missed it. You can check out my post in the Classified thread if you're interested:

Kaitu: Did you see visions of a little bear literally bearing the weight of the world on his (?) back?
Sorry. Stepped away from the computer for a bit. No bears allowed. The sign said so.
