Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Soccorro: has anyone else seen the whole Gog.com team showing us the finger and laughing at us?

Kaitu: LOL! I'm sure these guys have something up their sleeves for us faithful. We'll see. :-)
I just got thinking about this, you know I bet they ( the gog staff that pulled this off, are super tired, must have had to be a lot of work , at least I am thinking about that now, I wonder ????

JadesFire: A good game is a good game is a good game. I've never felt marginalized by the industry or like they need to make more games that suit me. I've never felt a shortage of interesting games. I'm content.

I know JudasIscariot was around earlier but you've gotta figure they're in Europe (somewhere) and it is getting late over there (9-10pm). I'm guessing they're gonna release some analytics (which would be REALLY interesting to analyze) and then deal with the rest of the aftermath tomorrow.
Is anyone else getting thrown back to the Keane Ages every time you post ? or is it just me doing something wrong ? It was throwing me back before only a couple of pages.

Kaitu: I was on the fence about that game but SOOOOOO glad I accidently forgot to get a gift code with the first purchase of it. :-) Had a REALLY good game going but got stuck trying to find a worthwhile stone deposit to build a fire pit. Still made it like 8 days.

Haven't installed that one but it was a spur of the moment purchase I made while still half asleep. Looks like fun though. (Love TD games!)

CorranHorn: The gameplay reminds me of Minecraft (only seen others play that one on Youtube) and Terraria (really a MP game but I have lost many hours playing it alone). Terraria is another game that needs to be on GoG, the Steam version is (afaik) free of DRM.
...It doesn't remind me even tangentially of either, to the extent I'm wondering if you know what game I mean.

Deja vu? It means they changed something in the Matrix.

(It's been an ongoing thing. Not sure what is causing it.)
By the way, I downloaded my new Syberia last night and played just a few minutes, too tired to really get my head into yet, but the background art work is just a beautiful as people here told me. Very pleased , I think it will be fun.

Don´t Starve, a game about surviving, Minecraft and Terrariah are also games that are about surviving, to do this you need to create things that you combine from things you find in the game world. I´ve seen enough of Don´t Starve to see that it uses the same idea but in Terraria dying isn´t game over which it looks to be in DS;).

The artwork is beautiful. I think the characters and storyline are equally great. Just an all around good adventure series.

I don't want to play the spoiler , but let me just say that in Dreamfall, Longest Journey, there is one scene area that really took my breath away, just amazingly beautiful, reminded me of where I grew up in the Mountains.

Now I'm bummed I missed out on Syberia (it was the only game on my wishlist in this sale I missed). Ah well, hopefully it'll be back up on sale for christmas!

Haha, I'll get it eventually... for now, I have plenty of new games to occupy my time while I wait for Syberia to go on sale again :P.
