Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

BlueLemon: That wasn't my point really. It wasn't about just being called guys. I was reading posts on the thread where people were assuming everyone on here were men.. and other things.. I know what you mean, I've read posts about it, and women gamers have talked about it to me. GOG is a good community though. I feel like my post have been misunderstood, or not even read, lol.

Schemilix: I think it's a natural assumption since most people in this community ARE male. I did get irritated when someone went 'well of course you're all guys'. In that context guys means 'males'. Which is very limiting and ridiculous. People with a uterus do hang around here, thanks.

Tbh the only blatant sexism I've seen is that one troll and calling me stupid for getting offended at the notion that Leisure Suit Larry exists and still sells.
I even remember a time where some lady called out for all the girls and got... one reply and that one was a male only talking about the fact that there was no reply. Of course, there are more than one female in here but I dare think it's safe to assume that the majority is male and that nobody is trying to offend anyone when they say "Hey guys." or something. And if someone, indeed, IS offended by that... well, I roll my eyes at people that are always and all too easily offended by everything.
I actually managed to catch everything I wanted. (And more). Aw ye.

FearfulSymmetry: I have seen a lot of weird preconceptions in real life, though. I have this one male friend who believes that women who game don't care about looking pretty - i.e. wearing make up or fancy clothes. First of all, whether you choose to do those things or not shouldn't matter, and secondly, I don't see how any of it has anything to do with gaming. I haven't been able to talk him out of it, though.
Well that's silly. Gaming is a hobby of choice, not a locked status. I'm fairly certain the majority of people play games anyway thanks to smartphones. It's exciting to see what the future could hold

Yeah, that's what I was getting at, not really the 'guys' thing, but when people were saying only guys (as in men) are here. You phrased it better. :) I wrote a long post, but one only grabbed at that. You'd be surprised how many are women here, it's odd because I know a lot of women who play, maybe people only assume it's male so that's how some women are put off.. I don't know.. It wasn't like that when I was growing up.

I saw that poster you mentioned, that, and a couple very rare posts, is why I posted, as I think this community is awesome and that most people would understand that I wasn't saying this community is like that, but there were some posts..

I don't recall that. I just remmeber Xenxander weirdly saying, 'okay all you men... or ladies... but there are no ladies'. Like wat. There's bound to be some women. I for one am bio-female, much to my distaste.

Then again I fit the stereotype of gamers don't dress properly. As long as it's washed and not my pyjamas I'll probably wear it.
I will miss that promo... too bad that round 3 was realllyyy slow....

smoother: lol. there is actual news about Jack Kean 2 and GOG's Insomnia Sale:

http://www.technologytell.com/gaming/120291/gog-com-drm-free-fall-insomnia-sale-stuck-on-jack-keane-2/
Hardly news, went up during The Prime Keaning and that was, like, 6 weeks ago. ;)
Anyone has a spare key for Spellforce Platinum? PM me for trade pleaseeeeee <3

xieliming: Despite some insomnia and disappointments (due to the need to sleep) over last few days, this sale promo has been immensely enjoyable because of the great community here.

I'm really proud to have followed and contributed to the community through this journey from beginning to the end (which coincides with the day of my final exam!). Will continue to be an active part of such great community!

Keane to do this again some time :)
I have an exam tmr. the GOG sale was during my exam period and I still managed to get all the games I want :D glad that there were Keanes during exams.

Yeah, that is strange, as there are all types of men who play too. :)
Fun times all. Thanks for all the fish. :)

Hehe to 'As long as it's washed..'!
It has actually ended! Props to whatever superhuman managed to keep awake for the whole promo. Would have watched the ending but completely missed the last couple of games because my internet decided to poop out. Oh well. It was fun. This thread probably gave more entertainment than most games these days. ;)
That was an awesome promo. Thanks, gog!
