Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

KMJX: Oooh the first person has found the first hint to the fourth code snippet.

It's getinng hot in here. You might want to look for more clues though.
The eyes must be red and hurting by now.

RWarehall: The best thing about a sale like this, is you can get single games for a good price. The holiday sale, you end up with games you don't really want as part of some of the packages.
What are you talking about? You can buy a single games from packages, or exclude some. Most time without percentage drops.

Faenwulf: Altough I got a great many good games out of this sale.
I must say, this thread and the people in it was the best of the whole sale for me. We should totally do this another time again.
I think this promo sale was a major succes for GOG so I'm sure they will do it again. Perhaps they will improve it a little.

Who knows, in the near future there are 2 reasons to do a sale: Black Friday - Cyber Monday and Winter Holidays so maybe in less than a mount will see this again but with other games.
games i wanted ..all got
impulse buys... far too many
fun had....plenty
sleep had ....not enough
going to miss it...yes

this must mean i am totally Keaned
Weird, Cognition just showed up in my Games list, and I've never bought it.
It's really sad. I enjoyed it very. But i beleive in GOG, that they prepared for us some surprise at the really end.

The glitch thing sucks. It's pretty amazing that you got both games for NWN and BG, though. I'm guessing you didn't get much sleep this weekend? lol
Woohoo! Yarilo traded me Thief2 :DD. Only Thief 1 remaining to be acquired!

Any kind soul with a Thief Gold key that would want a key for Jade Empire or Witcher 1? :)

Faenwulf: By the way guys: Is Psychonauts worth buying if you're not much of a platformer guy? (and have no Controller for your PC).

Was thinking buying the last game on sale would be a nice ending touch to my shopping spree of these last few days.
It's pretty nice game and I'm not much of a platformer guy. However..... some stages are tricky as hell. But I attributed this to my using the keyboard.

So I think this would work the best if you have the gamepad. Still, it's pretty neat game. I like it very much.
