Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Tulivesi: Did Conquistador already go by while I was sleeping?
Yes. The only game left now is Psychonauts.

Rapu: So, that's about 0,0003 Jack Keanes then?
HAHAHA!!! Great idea!

New Decree!!! Henceforth we shall all make time references as follows:

Seconds - NWNs
Minutes - Thieves
Hours - Eadors
& Days - Keanes

I have been following this sale for 5 Keanes, 8 Eadors and 7 Thieves

Khalaq: I've been searching the forum, but I don't see a time, anywhere. How long did it take Thief 2 to sell out?
avatar
keef0723: At a guess, between 3-10 minutes
meh... I was looking for something a bit more exact, but I guess nobody timed it.

Jade Empire sold 900 copies in four minutes.
Thief Gold did 600 copies in three minutes.

Measuring unit for time stasis = Keane
Urg. I wanted to stay up and see how all this ends, but Spellforce is selling at a snail's pace and sleep is calling my name.

If by some amazing miracle, they offer a free NWN 2 at the end, I would be most grateful if someone snagged a copy for me. I would happily buy that person a $5-$10 game of their choice.

Thanks for all the entertainment these last few days. Goodnight!
Spellforce 1 is a mixture between RPG and basebuilding strategy. You first enter an area with your hero whom you can level up and fully equip - and start exploring the map. Once you found a suitable place you start building a base where the buildings can vary between versions of different races. All the while you defend your settlement with your hero and army until you feel ready to take on the mission objective.

It is a good game. I just bought it here although I already have it on Steam. The presentation is quite lovely - at times I find it quite amusing to forfeit the all-encompassing view from above and just zoom in to my hero while having my army set on follow. Its great. :D

It was 600 copies. I didn't time it but it was somewhere around 6-8 Thieves give or take. (See my previous post.) :-)
That's too bad then... thanks for all your answerd tho. Also sorry for possible doublepost, posting in GOG forums is not working so well with my Android.

AndyDivine79: I'm hoping for one more chance on Kings Bounty. I let it slip by last night, out of my mind without sleep. We shall see.
avatar
Kaitu: I watched it come and go and am regretting it now. Looks like one I would really enjoy.
Several years ago, I purchased Kings Bounty Dragon Bone Staff off Ebay. I played the hell out of King's Bounty on Genesis. When the game arrived I tried to play it but my ps2 would not read it. Tried another game, no luck. Put King's Bounty in a second time. Still nothing. I pcked up my ps2 and shook it (cause that always seems to work) and ended up dropping it. The ps2 was toast but the worst part was the game ended up cracked. I felt like a tool. :)

So it's kind of a Warcraft/D&D hybrid?

Goodnight to you. I am done too - calling it a night. Got a serious unexplained as of yet nerve problem with my spine atm and the lack of sleep the past few days hasn't been too great for the body.
Happy Gaming everyone!!!!!
