Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

As the end draws near, who has taken the most extreme measures to stay at their computer? have you been scarfing down endless buckets of unlucky fried kitten? taking Red Bull intravenously? or even pooping into a bucket by your desk?
Hopefully Thief 2 will be up next. I want to get it and be done with this sale.

Alien8n: Ironically my favourite FF games were the GB ones. Even though they were b&w I just loved playing them.

The one I hated most was actually FF online. The levelling system on that was totally borked, I think I levelled to level 10 a dozen times (the jump from 9 to 10 meant you had to fight monsters that were way too hard at that level and if you died you dropped a few levels and had to do it all over again)
like i mentioned briefly earlier, the ffl games were actually SaGa titles.
Sword of the Stars: The Pit is a really fun roguelike, I was impressed by it and am surprised that people would be unwilling to spend $2.09 on it. The Pit is a steal at that price.

BTCentral: I'd love to give LIMBO a try, if you're offering :)

Thanks man! This doesn't really replace Thief: Gold, but it'll certainly make having missed it more bearable :)

MasterofClassics: Wow thats impressive, good luck with those, I couldn't imagine besting Yiazmat solo. Checked out your art too, it's really good! I like the distinctive facial features in each drawing. I unfortunately have not played FFT, I think it would be cool to be more into the lore of the land

Schemilix: Ha, thanks dude. It's heartening to hear I don't suffer from 'sameface syndrome'.

I'm not the only one on this forum that'd recommend it. If you emulate it, get the translation patch. The original translation is a fucking mess. The new translation can be a little flowery, but rather purple than nonsense/anachronistic.
I actually just play it on PS2 but I always wanted to play the Int. Zodiak job system version on an emulator, I'll look up the patch if I do.
Right guys, it's been a blast, I'll definitely be back :)

Night :)

Wasn't me.
But, some1 got it already.
I find it quite tricky to find games for my 7 year-old niece. On the one hand, she's seven. On the other hand, she can play though an entire campaign of Left 4 Dead 2 by herself. (On Easy setting, of course.)

Anyway, I was trying to think of some of the GOG games I have that she might be interested in. Theme Hospital might be a bit too much for her, but perhaps when she's older? Anyone have any recommendations for her from the GOG library? Games she has tried that seemed to be OK for her are:

Ghost Master
Worms Armageddon
King's Quest (didn't hold interest that long, maybe due to the interface)
Costume Quest (might try this one, again, now that she's a bit older)
Torchlight

PS. (She waaaaay past Manhole. She got bored of that in like one minute. Creatures was also a fail.)
