Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

CorranHorn: Ever played Codename Iceman? That one required you to look at a map and write down the coordinates to prove that you own the game and also you needed to do a proper salute and stuff to get on the sub (failing to do so meant game over, if I don´t remember this wrong).

I really liked this type of DRM much more than needing to write down a code like the latter games.

legitster: Never played that one, but I loved those creative type DRM's from back in the day!One of the Monkey Islands had a Code Wheel that was fun, and I think I remember a Tetris game that had to find a word from a specific page of the manual before you could start it! XD
Star Trek: Judgement Rites. Every mission took place in a different, and specific, solar system, and there were loads of them. If you went to the wrong one you would be attacked by an enemy ship. There was a star chart in the manual that listed all the systems, so when they told you to go to Cardon 4 or whatever, you'd have to find it on the map, to avoid being blown up by Klingons.

nijuu: Anyone else kinda disappointed at the last games left on the list?
I'm actually glad they didn't save the most popular for last. I'm too tire to stay up another night.

Purple Goat meets Batman the Purple.

And some bunny in the corner.
They should toss up the last 4 games at the same time and let this sale end. Gog needs to make the pain stop. What is it 2am for some of you folk? This is getting silly now...
I've been gone for almost two hours and "The Pit" is still on?! May Lord Keane have mercy on our souls.

I see dead people.

MasterofClassics: Try a solo game, you wont even have the option to rely on gambits. It changes the gameplay up a bit.
avatar
Schemilix: I solo'd Basch once. Maybe that was a mistake. God that was hard.
Nice! I'm still going on my Vaan solo (man I am so sick of him haha). I got up to Arcadia and decided to put it down for a while because I hate running around talking to all those people. Were you able to do all the Marks except for Yiazmat?

stevieknix: So, who missed what?
avatar
MaximumBunny: I only missed one thing so far - Icewind Dale 2 Complete. I missed it because contrary to what I thought I saw, it was never in the sale. Gotta love what staring at a screen for hours can do to your mind. :P
Man, I wish it was in there.

BillyMaysFan59: So is this Sword Stars Whatever game any good? It's been up for a while...
Yes, very good.

And didn't say that to move the sales along as I realize that it may have come across that way. Its a very well done roguelike.

Knofbath: Gambits are basically AI programming, once you understand it you can steamroller through the game. I just thought it was an odd direction for the series to take. Seeing the mess of FFXIII and FFIV, I have to wonder if Square-Enix even knows how to make a good game anymore.

Schemilix: In ways I agree the system's not perfect, but I still prefer it to the ATB system of before. It's at least a change. FFXII is my favourite of the main games along with IX just because those have the better worlds and characters and... sorta a better plot. But that's more because they had a good world and good character to make the plot with.

FFT blows them both out of the fucking water though in terms of plotting.
I definitely agree with you about FFT. Murder, betrayal, and backstabbing, it definitely wasn't a kids game.

Alien8n: Well the games list looks a lot better than before the sale at least :)
Ooo - don't they all look pretty!
