Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Gitfinger1: Yep no problem I did have to reset my game res but that's because I have a new monitor since I last played it I had one tweak I had run previous on this game

Run JadeEmpireConfig.exe in winxp sp3 compatability mode

but I just had to do that with NWN 1 I bought here in the sale

booyabojangles: Awesome! This is great. Thanks for taking the time to respond and check. I actually got a copy of Jade on gog, but am contemplating getting it for a friend on Steam now.
Its a Superb game if you immerse yourself in the story would say to anyone it's an instant buy if they don't have it and like the Genre.
I could have Sword this game would be one Of The Stars of this sale, but The purchase rate has fallen into a Pit.

MaximumBunny: I only missed one thing so far - Icewind Dale 2 Complete. I missed it because contrary to what I thought I saw, it was never in the sale. Gotta love what staring at a screen for hours can do to your mind. :P

zlep: There's always Christmas. ^_^
The Christmas sale should be here in a month or less for stuff people missed. And for stuff that didn't go on sale.

Common Deadly Premonition!

Take a shower?

Knofbath: If you don't use Gambits, you have to micromanage your whole team. The game just isn't set up to be fun to play like that.
avatar
Schemilix: See that's what I don't understand. 'The game plays itself!' 'Now I have to play the game!' They repeat the last thing they did anyway. Set it to wait mode and it's basically a turn based game, really.

I just set up basic gambits - attack what the party leader is attacking, curing gambits for the healers, and a gambit for flying enemies. At full speed non-wait, it's hectic enough. Anti-ailment, black magic, Techniks I do myself. For the harder bosses just walking off and leaving the gambits without altering them is a great way to die, too.

I think the gambits just take the tedium out of backtracking.
Gambits are basically AI programming, once you understand it you can steamroller through the game. I just thought it was an odd direction for the series to take. Seeing the mess of FFXIII and FFIV, I have to wonder if Square-Enix even knows how to make a good game anymore.

HaydenRead: Oh no, does that mean I have missed Half-Life 3...

mm3n: Yup, it was a freebie few hours back. Extremely limited tho, only gaben minions could grab it :/

I think you're right. ;(

But think about the Uber Evil. GOG, that is. Who brought this destruction to these peaceful lands.....

CorranHorn: Ever played Codename Iceman? That one required you to look at a map and write down the coordinates to prove that you own the game and also you needed to do a proper salute and stuff to get on the sub (failing to do so meant game over, if I don´t remember this wrong).

I really liked this type of DRM much more than needing to write down a code like the latter games.
avatar
legitster: Never played that one, but I loved those creative type DRM's from back in the day!One of the Monkey Islands had a Code Wheel that was fun, and I think I remember a Tetris game that had to find a word from a specific page of the manual before you could start it! XD
Yes, Monkey Island I do remember (and thought of as well=)). Sierra did the thing with finding a page in the manual for many of their games, I lover King´s Quest III´s protection, was a bit hard to read it sometimes=).

Go vote for Codename Iceman, great game, just voted myself but it´s chocking to see such a classical game only havint 100+ votes=(.

The Keane is strong with this one.
So is this Sword Stars Whatever game any good? It's been up for a while...
