Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

darthslyguy: Ya he was well on his way out during the production of FFX-2. Can you honestly blame him after what they did to what was effectively *HIS* franchise. The last game he played any sort of creative role in was XI and VII as far as I am aware though. Hes had a producer or supervisor cap on for most everything else since FFVII.

Shendue: The problem is that his very artistic view started to conflict with today's market that is changing a lot and becoming way more casual player-oriented.
What the...?! You guys have been talking about Hironobu Sakaguchi and I missed it? ¬¬ Well, that won't prevent the Truth from being spoken:

- Hironobu Sakaguchi is God, and Nobuo Uematsu is His prophet.
- Although FFXI was pretty decent (I could only see a little part of the storyline before getting tired of the grinding), FFX was the last true FF, although the canonicity of everything happening during the ending (and even the last boss itself) are disputable.
- Lost Odyssey is the perfect successor to FFX, and whoever didn't shed manly tears over it is either not human or dead inside.
- The Last Story is an awesome game, marred by a rushed production and Nintendo's meddling.
- All other games by Mistwalker are most probably equally awesome, but I didn't get the chance to play the yet.
- I consider Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within to be a good film. Certainly not perfect, but definitely undeserving all the hate it's got.

The Truth has been spoken. May Hironobu Sakaguchi's grace fall upon all true believers, hopefully in the shape of yet more awesome games.

Random fact, just for the sake of bragging: I once had the honor of shaking His hand.

Kaitu: One of the best quotes from the game!
I was always fond of:
"I plan to live forever, of course, but barring that I'd settle for a couple thousand years. Even five hundred would be pretty nice."
Could someone buy 416 copies of the Pit please. I wanna see what is next.

Funny tidbit about FFX, it's actually a distant prequel to FF7.
Anybody wants trade something for Jade empire? I've got nothing on lager, but I could get stuff :3
So happy I finally nabbed HOMM 3 Complete earlier.
Altogether bought:

NWN: Diamond Ed.
NWN 2 Complete
Ultima VII Complete Edition
Sacred Gold
Planescape Torment
Inquisitor
The Witcher 2
Deus Ex
Heroes of Might & Magic 3 Complete

Was also gifted Master of Orion 1+2

Thanks GOG for the very nice, if sometimes frustrating, but very very fun sale! Looking forward to the Christmas Sale :)

For further fun, ping secure.gog.com. My results were 6/7/7/9 ms for normal GOG and 7/7/8/8 ms for secure connection.
Anyone want to trade resonance or systemshock 2 for something else?
