Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

KMJX: Well, I had to miss Thief 3 (or maybe I didn't, will have to clear that one up with support), and I already have Thief 2.
I was planning on spending the little remaining coin I have left on Thief Gold, but I could just trade one NWN for it .

Oofles: Pick me! Pick me to buy and trade!
First come First serve, but I'm still giving away one more NWN Key sometime later, and everyone present will have a shot at it, no ninja skills required.

MGShogun: Someone has that many Jack Keane 2? OMG. X.X
avatar
nuter: That's illness. It's called Keanibalism.
LOL!

JoseWisemang: Ha, took a random stab and guessed 6... apparently I was correct :D
Ty sir.
Enjoy :D

cjc7: I'd really like to hang in to see how it ends. Will it end with a bang ? or just go away ? Been here this long, hope to see some fireworks or something.
Yeah me too.Maybe offering a game free or reduced that hasn't been part of the promo yet.that is one thing they could add if GOG ever does this again, and i hope they do, is some random games exclusive to the respective round to keep things even more exciting.
Oh Gog! What are we going to do when this ends! With nothing else to look forward to! Our lives will be empty...

RickSputnik: Waiting for Jade Empire, Thief 1 and 2. I'm pretty sure that one of them is going to be the last one.

A Valley Without Wind 1 and 2 Steam Key: G0WFG-FVGJ?-JPGPX

? is a number
I'm waiting on those also

MGShogun: Seriously. :(

Soccorro: no it just isn't. allright i have to admit the jokes are ok and that ego thing made me laugh once or twice but thats it.
I liked the ego meter. It was a great way of using Duke's personality in game play. His confidence and ego effects how long he can fight in battle. Even most RPGs can't do anything like that.

The trouble was, the story line, game play, sound, graphics and everything else in the game was absolutely abysmal.
Just fucking give me Thief II and Expeditions: Conquistadors so i can get some sleep. I feel like i've been infected by the T-Virus
avatar
Kaitu: Much appreciated. So, I need some help, can we get a list of all the "Keanes" from this round (Eador, Divinity, BoUT, what else)? Promise the effort will be worth it when I'm done with my "project". :-)
avatar
jackster79: Well, these are just the ones that I experienced myself:
Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within
Retro City Rampage
Leisure Suit Larry

These I think I recall mentioned in the forum:
Rise of the Triad
Eador: Masters of the Broken World
Divinity: Dragon Commander
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum
Rayman Origins
Omerta: City of Gangsters + all DLC

Others may have more to add (or in the event that they feel I am incorrect, suggestions on ones to remove).
I wasn't here for the Keane itself, but i experienced my fair share of keaning. I was online during all ROTD, Eador, RCR, Book of unwritten tales followed by Thunderscape and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, LSL...
Sniper Elite was rather slow, too. And it came right after Eador, that had legitimately keaned.

Shendue: Dear GOG, please let the next game be Thief 2, so i can buy it and finally get some decent sleep.
avatar
jackster79: And here I thought we all were having so much fun here that no one would ever want to leave. :p
The gog guys should print out this entire thread and use it to wallpaper all their offices.

That will be a welcome change. I don't like F5/ninja giveaways. The same people always win those.
Also Don't Starve. Don't Starve was slow.
avatar
Fellin: Series really went downhill for me after X also. X-2 was horrible, they've really given up on story and gone all into graphics or something.
avatar
Shendue: It's not surprising, considering that Hironobu Sakaguchi left Square after FFX and that Nomura, which was a character designer, not a game designer, was put in charge of the series.
Actually, Sakaguchi left Square shortly after X-2 was finished, his last projects there were Kingdom Hearts, XI, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and X-2 (in order).
avatar
CarrionCrow: Base game.
avatar
Khalaq: Something to keep in mind, however, is that. here on GOG.com, base games quite often become gold versions, later.
It has the two upgrades available. I intend to retrieve the whole thing, once my resources are replenished a bit. Lots and lots of impulse buys....
Don't starve was an awful one. Felt like everything was in slow motion.
