Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Stooner: Perhaps Sacred and NWN Diamond

KMJX: You should know the answer to this one yourself.

All the hints you need to figure the answer out are in this thread, and most of them are repeated in relatively recent posts
No, scratch Evoland, that doesn't make any sense. My last guess shall be Sacred Gold & HOMM5

sneakyraccoon: Well I have certainly learned my lesson... with a sale like this you grab a game you want the first time you see it! I passed on Spellforce Platinum in round one, at that point I was foolishly attempting to stick to a budget, and unfortunately missed it in round two. Thank you everyone on here for entertaining me over the course of what is quickly becoming a week while I ride this grind to the end!
You can do it. It took me five days to grab everything after revising my list about ten times like a dumbass, but I got every single thing I wanted.

GhostwriterDoF: Aye, except no Steam for me with this game. It must be the GoG version, or none at all!
avatar
mercutiouk: Depends on how much longer will the Gog team keep torturing us... =P
Well, even if I don't get it in this sale, I'll wait for the Christmas sale... ;)

At least I decided to get it after hearing all the praise in this Thread.

MobiusArcher: I recognize that King of dragon Pass is probably a really awesome game. I already bought a whole crappin' ton of games this month though. I also just don't know if I feel like playing a game like that.
avatar
MaximumBunny: I know that feel. Fortunately I don't feel it for King of Dragon Pass. Unfortunately it's not in my budget. :P
10 years ago if a game had been 1.50$ it would have been HUGE NEWS

stan423321: What nobody cared for was the fact that the game laying in bargain bin has its reputation ripped out without grace. The waiting part is separate. I understand that it's not your thing, but, see, there are other, more normal sales on GOG, even right during this one. This one is specifically tailored for the people that wish to trade in quite a lot of their time for spending less money on games.

So: you take damage => you pay less. In fact, loads of sales happen to work based on this template. You don't wanna buy that game for 49$ when it's all cool cause it just released? Well, maybe you're crazy enough to buy it earlier/later and pay less. You don't wanna buy those fancy fashionable clothes when they're fashionable? Well, if you will buy them afterwards and wearing them is not fashionable anymore, you will pay less. You find your city's public transport outrageously expensive? Well, if you are gonna supply them with your personal data and buy multiple tickets at once, you'll pay less. There's a box of 10 weird chocolate bars with reduced price compared to one? If you end up not liking them, you'll lose more money, but in other case, well, you'll pay less for each one.

Leon_Belmont: I understand your point bro, and you're right but I was just complaining that GOG should put a timer or put the name of the next game in line, in that way you can do what ever you want, for example, the Steam Sales, they always add a time limit for every flash sale, so you can do what ever you want in that period of time. I like waiting, but not like I did in this GOG sale, man I haven't slept well just because I wanted the Brutal Legend game, and after 2 days it finally showed up.

So the next time I hope the people of GOG adds a timer or something like that!
Honestly, I think that would defeat the purpose. This sale is MADE for impulse buying. It's like the bargain bin at the movie store: you don't pick through it looking for a specific movie you want for cheap, you rummage around and go "Escape From New York is in here? Jeez, I'd probably never pay $20 for this, but at $2.50, sure!" Complaining about the sale (ESPECIALLY the freebies) is, I think, totally missing the point.

Me, I've been checking in for a couple hours every day, never gotten a freebie, and only bought two games: Deux Ex, which was in my wishlist, and KIng of Dragon Pass just now, entirely because it looks interesting and costs a buck fitty. Love. This. Sale.

01kipper: The main thing which restricted me from purchasing twice (or more!) as many games is the fact that I’m on a Mac so I can’t play the windows-only games!!

I concur. (Playing on a laptop operating on Linux)

cpucrust: Twenty Rings of Power:

3 Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
7 for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
? for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the Land of *ordor where the Shadows lie,
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of *ordor where the Shadows lie.

I kinda want to try it out, but at the same time spent way too much already and really don't know if I should :/

Yeah but if you're looking through a bin you don't have to look at Jack Keane 2 for 5 hours

Thanks, I'll have to look into that. (I've only just started gaming again recently after a very long hiatus :)
