Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

BananaJane: Dragon Pass is selling faster than any other game, is it good or something?
Considering the review and description, I would assume so. I'd buy it if I could (but it can wait because the full price is still relatively low)

3 Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
7 for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
? for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the Land of *ordor where the Shadows lie,
One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

cpucrust: Wow! That was quick - made the code too easy I guess - congrats!
Cheers for the tribute and the giveaway.

01kipper: The main thing which restricted me from purchasing twice (or more!) as many games is the fact that I’m on a Mac so I can’t play the windows-only games!!
Wine does a pretty good job with games these days. Especially with the literal good old games.

Stooner: Perhaps Sacred and NWN Diamond

KMJX: You should know the answer to this one yourself.

All the hints you need to figure the answer out are in this thread, and most of them are repeated in relatively recent posts
Sacred Gold & Thief 3

GhostwriterDoF: Aye, except no Steam for me with this game. It must be the GoG version, or none at all!
Depends on how much longer will the Gog team keep torturing us... =P

tvzz000: is gog in trouble? are they going out of business? this sale seems like a fire sale
avatar
groze: I don't think so, GOG and its parent company, CD Projekt, are fine and healthy, as far as I know. They just like to spoil their community with sales like this every once in a while. I'm guessing it's probably because they wanted to have a Fall sale but with the Christmas sale approaching, they chose this flash sale format. Then again, it could be a whole number of reasons, I'm bad at that kind of thing (economics and PR and commerce, etc).

I do think, however, GOG is doing just fine. If they were in trouble of any kind I'm positive they'd let us know.
Well, they do have a little bit of trouble. Sometimes the massive flood of customers seems to be straining their servers to the breaking point. lol.

Captain_Midnight: Haven't played it yet, but 573 ratings on the product page averaging 5 stars is usually a pretty good indicator :)
But it looks like a strategy click around on stuff kind of game

KMJX: Thank you.
Just keeping up the work someone else started (multiple people, but the only one I remember off the top of my head is gogbot)

gogbot: I was pulling together a few lists that were floating around. KJMX, myself and another user whom I've forgotten (sorry mystery warrior) were running strong in tandem for a bit. I succumbed to my mortal limitations and obligations some time ago. KMJX has certainly been the most resilient. HUGE  to KJMX for keeping up on it!

(Been trying to rep every time I see the list posted).
I was posting the "in order" list for the first half of round three but real life took me away from the project.
I recognize that King of dragon Pass is probably a really awesome game. I already bought a whole crappin' ton of games this month though. I also just don't know if I feel like playing a game like that. Then there is the fact that I already grabbed every GOG game I planned on buying in this sale.

...And that sort of thinking didn't last very long. Its only $1.49. Even if I only play it once, I'm sure I can at least get some board game design ideas from it. I enjoy designing board games. I never finish any of them, but I sort of plan on not finishing.
does witcher 2 go on sale often?
Well I have certainly learned my lesson... with a sale like this you grab a game you want the first time you see it! I passed on Spellforce Platinum in round one, at that point I was foolishly attempting to stick to a budget, and unfortunately missed it in round two. Thank you everyone on here for entertaining me over the course of what is quickly becoming a week while I ride this grind to the end!

I know that feel. Fortunately I don't feel it for King of Dragon Pass. Unfortunately it's not in my budget. :P
