Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Strange I am getting Invalid Code...

CarrionCrow: Ya know....maybe I've just completely lost my mind, but I'm noticing that compared to my old desktop, having one with Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, Planescape, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 (large amounts of thanks once again to Cardian), Jade Empire, Neverwinter 1 & 2, Alpha Centauri and Master of Orion all on it just kicks incalculably larger amounts of ass.
I can recommend taking a look at the Kickstarter for Project Eternity (Obsidian)

Leon_Belmont: I do care, because I waited since friday to buy Brutal Legend, the problem here is that you need to stay all the day to wait and see if the game you want is the next. At lest it could be great if they can show the next game in line so you can decide if you want it or not, or if you can have a little snap.

stan423321: What nobody cared for was the fact that the game laying in bargain bin has its reputation ripped out without grace. The waiting part is separate. I understand that it's not your thing, but, see, there are other, more normal sales on GOG, even right during this one. This one is specifically tailored for the people that wish to trade in quite a lot of their time for spending less money on games.

So: you take damage => you pay less. In fact, loads of sales happen to work based on this template. You don't wanna buy that game for 49$ when it's all cool cause it just released? Well, maybe you're crazy enough to buy it earlier/later and pay less. You don't wanna buy those fancy fashionable clothes when they're fashionable? Well, if you will buy them afterwards and wearing them is not fashionable anymore, you will pay less. You find your city's public transport outrageously expensive? Well, if you are gonna supply them with your personal data and buy multiple tickets at once, you'll pay less. There's a box of 10 weird chocolate bars with reduced price compared to one? If you end up not liking them, you'll lose more money, but in other case, well, you'll pay less for each one.
I understand your point bro, and you're right but I was just complaining that GOG should put a timer or put the name of the next game in line, in that way you can do what ever you want, for example, the Steam Sales, they always add a time limit for every flash sale, so you can do what ever you want in that period of time. I like waiting, but not like I did in this GOG sale, man I haven't slept well just because I wanted the Brutal Legend game, and after 2 days it finally showed up.

So the next time I hope the people of GOG adds a timer or something like that!

Aren't these much copies of Dragon's Boring Yet-Another Fantasy Strategy Game a bit too much? I know nothing of strategy games, but is it that well known for GOG to be putting up this many copies of it?

**Edited for grammar and stuff.**

What? How did that happen? I tried the code before and it said invalid code. When I saw your message that is still unclaimed tried again just to see what's going on and I got it?!? How does this work again?
I'm finally passed the point where I know for sure I'm not buying anything else. My last impulse buy was Brutal legend.
Of the games left, there is only 2 that I don't own: Jade Empire and Psychonauts, and I have very little interest in both.

Now I'm waiting to see how the sale will end. I'd kind of like to see the first Jake Kean offered for free for a day or two.

I have no answer for you. Sounds like you did it correctly. Could be a glitch on GOG's side. Maybe their server is being overwhelmed.

Sacred Gold & Master of Orion

Are we looking at more than 2 titles?

Very strange. It was a straight copy/paste and in the end did get claimed. I think GOG was being stubborn.

cpucrust: I must confess that making friends at first was difficult in the small, almost rural city we lived in. The people generally appeared cold and aloof (disclaimer: this is strickly my experience - not implying ALL are that way). However, once I managed to grasp the language better and spent more time with my colleagues and neighbours (i.e. they got used to a strange Canuck living in there midst), I made lasting friendships that I still have today.

If you should ever get the chance to come to Canada, it has quite an extreme variation in landscape. I'm partial to the Rocky Mountains - since I live so close to them!
Bavaria is not even worst in that respect. Westphalia pretty much is the undisputed champion in having the most unapproachable people. If you are friendly to strangers, people will immediately become suspicious. Yes, it's that bad ;)

I guess when coming to Canada, the colder the landscape is, the more urgent it is to visit. Last chance to see so to speak ...

Thanks for that foxworks! I didn't even expect to get anything, stopped trying keys like yesterday...

Oh, yeah. The server might be the issue. I didn't thought of that and this is what I do for a living :D It's the same as the freebies. Maybe if too many people try the code at the same time the server just gives in and "Invalid code" is the default error message. Now that I think of it, I had JUST ONCE a message that said "Code is already claimed". Every other time it was "Invalid code". So that's how it goes!

Anyway, thanks again for that. It felt quite nice to win something for a change :)
