Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

MystifiedFire: Is it Sacred Gold?

KMJX: That is one of them, yes. there is at least one other though.
Was it Jack Keane 2? I bet it was Jack Keane 2.

cpucrust: There is a 'stickied' Classified thread. Here's an example:
Ok sorry, my English was just too bad. I knew "classified" as in "secret" and as in "put into categories" but I just didn't know that it can also mean ... well whatever "classified" in "classified ad" really means :)

So, yeah, found it: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/classifieds

howardc007: Good idea, instead of timers or stuff in the game, you also have to monitor things like your blood pressure and the likes. Your player has to stay alive to win the game :)
And to avoid starvation, you'll have to eat llama chow!

KMJX: That is one of them, yes. there is at least one other though.

MystifiedFire: Is the other one Neverwinter nights 1?
Jack Keane 2?
WOOOOOO!!!!11!!1!
I just snagged my last game on my list!!!
I would like to thank GOG for making this awesome sale and this forum for help keeping me awake.
Time for sleep!

Hints might be in THE LIST
Oooooo... that'll help narrow it down. ;)
Nice, Brutal Legend = I don´t have money ¡GREAT!.

newromantic: I am not what you'd call a forum regular. Truth be told, I don't think I'd ever even looked at the forum before I stumbled into this sale late Thursday / early Friday. And while I've been relatively silent during this sale, I would be doing all of you a disservice if I didn't say how much I loved reading everything over the last few days. The fine people of this online community made the long waits extremely tolerable and fun.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping keep a middle-aged man awake and very amused through some of the long slogs. Your words and diligence shall not be forgotten and have been a real joy throughout.

FearfulSymmetry: I completely agree. I'm more of a lurker as well, but I've enjoyed the conversations in this topic a great deal.
I've enjoyed it too. :)

EX-Deimon: The Witcher 2?
I got that one (though I didn't really plan on it)
Additional Info: the opening post says "games" in plural, so you need to post all of them to qualify.

skeletonbow: Some that come to mind for me were Warcraft III, Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth and Battle for Middle Earth II. I didn't even know the latter two existed and found them in the store and just had to have them and they turned out to be mind blowing awesome. Then there was Ghost Recon, GRAW and GRAW2 and the Splinter Cell games also and I enjoyed all of those totally. Half Life and Half Life 2 are way up there too.
Aren't all these rather... old? Not sure whether those titles are AAA or not, it's arguable, but arenlt they more or less known at least by their name and/or their publisher/developer name?

avatar
skeletonbow: My understanding is they're simply having the Warcraft 1/2/3 games ported to current Windows and made to run well and possibly including the expansion packs as well. Not much has been said though. It's more of an update/port/refresh than a remake.
It was a bit sarcastic on my part - Diablo 3 (and simcity) "backstory". Dunno why they should upgrade WC3 - IIRC mine worked just fine. Higher resolutions, if only, but I really don't know why do that - that Space Rangers HD "remake" was awful. At least "remade" part is. IMHO.

It's an old newspaper term, they would have a section for public advertisements and they would indeed organise them all into categories, hence "classified ads".
