Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Everyone is waiting... Thrilling

KMJX: To pass a little time, I'll give a mystery key to the first person to find out which games I actually missed (those I missed for lack of funds don't count).
Should the key belong to something already in his possession, we'll figure out what happens then ^^

MystifiedFire: Is it Sacred Gold?
That is one of them, yes. there is at least one other though.

foxworks: You know, I never played that one. Fired up Deadline and Planetfall last week.

howardc007: It's a great game with a lot of laughs. You keep trying to fill out these forms in triplicate, and get shuffled around windows, hoping that you can get your forms filed before the office closes. The original game box even came with the actual forms, in triplicate.
Nice!

JustSayin: Just realized I bought nine games during this sale. Not even sure how that happened. Would have been ten but somebody had put Neverwinter Nights on while I was sleep. That was the game I originally wanted.
Funny how that is, I've bought 12 and I only had intention to pick up Brutal Legends.........which I STILL don't have.
Cognition Volume 2. 1000 copies, $9.99
Stuck at 4 for a while

Sounds like me during a summer sale. Wanted 2 games...ended up with a bunch of other games and neither of those. xP

Are talking about games that you missed from posting to "The List" or games that you didn't get a chance to buy?

Is the other one Neverwinter nights 1?

newromantic: I am not what you'd call a forum regular. Truth be told, I don't think I'd ever even looked at the forum before I stumbled into this sale late Thursday / early Friday. And while I've been relatively silent during this sale, I would be doing all of you a disservice if I didn't say how much I loved reading everything over the last few days. The fine people of this online community made the long waits extremely tolerable and fun.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping keep a middle-aged man awake and very amused through some of the long slogs. Your words and diligence shall not be forgotten and have been a real joy throughout.

FearfulSymmetry: I completely agree. I'm more of a lurker as well, but I've enjoyed the conversations in this topic a great deal.
Count me in as well. Watching games come and go was fun, sure, but reading the comments and putting my $0.02 from time to time was plain priceless. Guys (and girls), you are truly a great community!

MechaKong: The next Insomnia Sale that GOG have like this definitely needs to be based on timers and not quantities. The idea of quantities is too arbitrary. I understand that it's to emulate the whole "get em' while they're hot!" -feeling of purchasing a game from a store shelf, but in practice it's definitely hurt a few games' reputations on this site. It's also prompted users to wait around for unnecessary amounts of time (albeit, by their own volition) while a game that isn't popular drags on and on and on without selling.
Physical shops have been running sales this way for years and years, and yes, it hurts some games. Nobody cared then, I don't see why we shall care now. The waiting thing is the whole point of the Insomnia Sale.

Next up: Brutal Legend, 450 copies, 3.74$.
Going to be a lot of happy people now!!
