Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

trustymutsi: 2. I think GOG should interview some of the people on the forum and get their Insomnia sale experiences, and then write up an article about it. It would also make for good quotes for the next sale.
All GoG Staff have to do is read through are bleary eyed, sleep deprived postings in this Thread for the abbreviated perspective or our experience, respective....

howardc007: Yep. For those of you who remembers the old Infocom game, Bureaucracy, it'll be like that :)

foxworks: You know, I never played that one. Fired up Deadline and Planetfall last week.
It's a great game with a lot of laughs. You keep trying to fill out these forms in triplicate, and get shuffled around windows, hoping that you can get your forms filed before the office closes. The original game box even came with the actual forms, in triplicate.

KMJX: To pass a little time, I'll give a mystery key to the first person to find out which games I actually missed (those I missed for lack of funds don't count).
Should the key belong to something already in his possession, we'll figure out what happens then ^^
Is it Sacred Gold?

gamefood: Well well... just checked King of Dragon Pass, another game I didn't know... and I guess it's another impulse buy for me; screenshots look great, reviews are great (5 stars) and the game has a metascore of 90 ...
I might have to pick that up too.
I am not what you'd call a forum regular. Truth be told, I don't think I'd ever even looked at the forum before I stumbled into this sale late Thursday / early Friday. And while I've been relatively silent during this sale, I would be doing all of you a disservice if I didn't say how much I loved reading everything over the last few days. The fine people of this online community made the long waits extremely tolerable and fun.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping keep a middle-aged man awake and very amused through some of the long slogs. Your words and diligence shall not be forgotten and have been a real joy throughout.

kklsid: Now there's a sight I didn't have before... dropping a key and nobody redeeming it? Wow. Must be the influence of The Keane himself.

Since Cognition is now below 40, I guess I have to tell you to look up my last post before the game goes away :p
Thank you, I redeemed it just now. I suppose it was either locked or I was the last person on GOG who still didn't have it. :)
10!!!

Bring on Thief!!

foxworks: I wept when I added up it all up yesterday. But I'll live and smile when I start to download and play these classic gems.

Kaitu: Found some I never thought I'd like to be pretty kick ass!

Don't Starve is an awesome game that is fun but creepy at the same time.

RCR is a fun, retro tribute.

Got a copy of Myst (one of my all-time favorite games) as well as WC:P & Beyond Good & Evil.
You might enjoy this article about Myst creator Cyan which happened to be located not to far from me :)

I completely agree. I'm more of a lurker as well, but I've enjoyed the conversations in this topic a great deal.

arcusc: I think I'd end up with a real-life aneurysm.
Aneurysm not included. :)
Just realized I bought nine games during this sale. Not even sure how that happened. Would have been ten but somebody had put Neverwinter Nights on while I was sleep. That was the game I originally wanted.
Next? Duke Nukem, King of Dragons or Thief 2

smoother: Let's start an Isomnia Trade thread. That should work.

cpucrust: There is a 'stickied' Classified thread. Here's an example:

Have: [GOG]
Chronicles of Riddick
Sacred Gold
The Witcher 2

Want: [GOG]
S2: Silent Storm Gold Edition (Most Wanted!)
Grid
Rayman Origins
Found it: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/classifieds

MasodikTiasma: "Your blood pressure just went up."
Good idea, instead of timers or stuff in the game, you also have to monitor things like your blood pressure and the likes. Your player has to stay alive to win the game :)
better hurry, only 5 copies left....
