Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

keef0723: Into the 90's left....

what time is it in US? Can we expect traffic to pick up?
A little after 1:00 PM stateside, so maybe a little, but most will likely start appearing in a few more hours is my guess.

Not so much then. Well it's 5am here, maybe there will be a few early risers

Shendue: I also liked the collector's edition of Ni No Kuni. The book is awesomely made.
As a collector, tho, i must say the absolute best collector's editions i've seen are some of the japanese ones. Japan get the best collector's editions; some of them are simply beautiful, like the Okamiden collector's edition, for example, that is absolutely gorgeous.

stg83: How good is NI no Kuni? This is coming from someone who has never played a turned based JPRG but I love Studio Ghibli films so that is why I got the game.
It's excellent and visually it's really stunning (Studio Ghibli collaboration, this is all there is to say), but if you never played a JRPG i can't foresee if you are gonna like the gameplay. Never played a JRPG? Seriously? They are very different from WRPG games. If you like WRPGs you may even hate them.

ChoralMetalhead: I don't know if this will help anyone, but here's a free gift code for witcher; the enhanced edition I got free in the sale awhile back.

Now I should definitely get back to my dissertation and stop getting distracted by this annoyingly addictive sale! :)

01kipper: WOW, thanks so much, I used your code.

I've been watching this sale since the start (well, a few hours since the start, when I got the email). I'm waiting on Duke Nukem, somehow managed to miss it each time!
No problem! I'm glad it helped someone. I've had it sitting in my email for ages and only just remembered it, so I figured I might as well post here... :)

It's good. Not turn based mind you. It has some elements of the Tales of series such as only controlling one unit in combat. It is quite entertaining to watch. It has elements of pokemon mind you. If that doesn't turn you away I would say get it. You can play Studio Ghibli drinking games with all the classic tropes from the films!

stutzjon: If you're buying Witcher 2, be sure to have a powerful computer. For me, despite checking on 'Can You Run it" prior to buying and easily passing the test, the game ran incredibly choppy despite toggling all the video settings. Does anyone know if there is a patch or secret to getting this to run more smoothly without setting everything at the absolute worst graphics? I am luck if I get 7 fps and I have a year old computer with 8GB of Ram and no problem running Skyrim.
That's weird, I ran it on a Core2Quad Q8300, 4GB ram, and GTX580. Was giving decent fps on 1920x1620 What is your gpu?

10am on the West Coast, 1pm on the East, so give it a couple hours before people are out of work, but you might get some lunch traffic?

Got in after the e-mail too. At first I was actually sad I already missed most of the sale.
Oh how little did I know...

Would you mind a Steam Edition?

Yeah, tell me about it. But watching this sale makes dismal science experiments into the wee hours more bearable.

Radeon HD 7560D. Not great but I would think it would run this game since I can run Skyrim with fine FPS on medium settings
