Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Cardian: I'm not really a fan of Collector's Editions for games anymore because, as you said, most games offer some DLC and a figure, but this one had really nice things. The other one I got this generation was for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. That box was just awesome and I just HAD to get that Codex. My flat is full of movie Limited Editions, though ;)

Shendue: My favourite collector's from the current generation of consoles/pc games, along with The Witcher 2 one, are: Bioshock 2 (gotta love that vynil with the soundtrack, it's awesome and fits well the theme of the game, and the artbook is one of the best i've seen in special editions), The US edition of Catherine (Love is Over edition) and Little Big Planet 2 (the book ends and the Sackboy plushie included are so cute).
That LBP2 CE looks quite cute for the Sackboy alone. But I wouldn't have the space for the bookends, all my shelves are already maxed out and everywhere is already some kind of Terminator head or Watchman ship to keep stuff from falling.

cpucrust: I believe that - I lived in Vancouver for 5 years, rain/mist non-stop for weeks.

For me, I love low humidity - can't stand high humidity whether hot or cold!
I am a stones throw from Vancouver...eastward in Maple Ridge.

KMJX: Oh hey, came home just in time to see The Witcher 2 , so what was between the puddle and him?

Shendue: I also liked the collector's edition of Ni No Kuni. The book is awesomely made.
As a collector, tho, i must say the absolute best collector's editions i've seen are some of the japanese ones. Japan get the best collector's editions; some of them are simply beautiful, like the Okamiden collector's edition, for example, that is absolutely gorgeous.
Living in Germany, where everything gets censored and terribly dubbed, I have to import everything anyway ;)

LOL - Now that's the spirit!!!!!!!! :D

garrus74: The thing I like about CD-Projekt Red is how they just give away the enhance edition as a free boon to standard edition subscribers for both Witchers. Recently Eidos published Deus Ex: Revolution Director's Cut and they had nerve to ask for extra money!

Khaleesia87: EIDOS is a big company and they became greedy I guess =/

So speaking of which...TW2 is taking so long (understandable since everyone in this forum already has a copy) but how much time did Beyond Good or Evil take to sold out? I need to get peace of my mind knowing that it went away so quickly that I couldn't have gotten it even if I was awake.
It actually did, around twenty minutes or less I think.

You're in the Ridge? I'm in Surrey. :)

kklsid: Yeah, I was almost certain it was love. It's always love. What else would it be?!

Coelocanth: Heh, I've been doing that, actually. Got some laundry on the go right now and looking at starting on repairing a book shelf that's been on the back burner for a while. Have to get some dishes done and marinate some chicken for dinner, but I figure I can keep up with most of it. Tough to get the butt out of the chair though...
avatar
thepatt: OMG - you just reminded me I have to cook the chicken for the dog! ack!!
I hope you don't give it to him with the bones, do you? Fowl's bones are too sharp and can be lethal to a dog, I know what I'm talking about, one of mines had its liver deadly pierced by a piece of it :(

It went relatively fast. My memory is a bit fuzzy from staying up late but I believe it was on for like 15-20 minutes in the last round. I might be wrong, but it appeared quite fast.

How good is NI no Kuni? This is coming from someone who has never played a turned based JPRG but I love Studio Ghibli films so that is why I got the game.
